slacktivist Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Are you talking about Minnesota? What's wrong with me... I has been staying with "final review." Yes, but who even knows what any of this means?
Evgeny55 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 They sent me a generic email titled, "Your Columbia GSAS decision". The updated application status showed up on the application status page. Hope that helps! Thank you! I guess I just have to wait. And congratulations with admission!

LittleMac Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Anyone else have the "Check Status" portal change for Florida??
meteora Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Same with me. Fingers crossed for every Minnesota applicant!
Doorkeeper Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 It's very annoying that the statuses are not changed at the same time for both accepted and rejected applicants. I just want to know that I'm rejected so that I can write them off and move onto praying to the shrine of my other schools.
wcsy Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Thank you! I guess I just have to wait. And congratulations with admission! Wonder whether only 1 batch of update for admission and 1 for rejections.. hopefully not!

ARealDowner Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 I'm really hoping we hear back from Vanderbilt soon. The fact that one person emailed them last week and they replied that the end of last week was a possibility has to indicate that they're close to a decision...

Somebody a couple pages back said they were in at Vanderbilt.
poliscigoat Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Are Columbia decisions coming out in batches? I only see three on the results page :/ Political Science PhD, Fall 2015 Applied: LSE, UCLA, Cornell, Yale, Columbia, NYU Rejected: Stanford Accepted: UC Berkeley, UW Madison
testingtesting Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Christ. Columbia and Princeton, y u tease so muchhh?!!!! Also, I am not displeased by the fact that they do not send out the acceptances and rejections at the same time. However, I am puzzle by how a mass wave of NYU rejections went out (i think?) and acceptances, but I have no word. Caved and e-mailed the GSAS. At this point I have implicit denials at UNC, UCLA, NYU. Waiting on the hail mary of Princeton.
mattecon Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Same question about Columbia -- I'm freaking out. In the past it seems maybe no, but I'm not quite sure

mseph Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Just got curious, what is the likelihood of getting an acceptance email by mistake?
Evgeny55 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Checking e-mail every five minutes. Previous year Columbia sent all acceptances at one day. ajayghale and Toucan 2
poliscigoat Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Checking e-mail every five minutes. Previous year Columbia sent all acceptances at one day. Same. I think I might die of a heart attack. Andrew Gelman and Macartan Humphreys are my all time favorite political scientists and I would kill to work with them.
fakeusername Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 (edited) . . . and I would kill to work with them. Now I'm not updating my sig if I get in, just in case you're on the waitlist . Edited February 10, 2015 by fakeusername Username 2 1
Toucan Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 A Michigan acceptance!? Definitely not my reaction...this is far more accurate NMLogan and ZajoncSays 2
Evgeny55 Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 All signs predict that this week will be the week:)
mattecon Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Same...but who posted the reject, and how were you contacted?
bauhaus Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 have these columbia emails come at exactly the same time and the lag is just people posting results at different time or are the mails coming with spaces?
theoristo Posted February 10, 2015 Posted February 10, 2015 Just got curious, what is the likelihood of getting an acceptance email by mistake? Doesn't seem very likely for PhD programs. Perhaps for Masters or for programs with larger cohorts than the PhD. But given the fact that many programs accept initially by way of a POI and then officially through DGS or an admissions committee member, I don't see it happening.
