nuih
Any Laurier applicants? I received an email from a faculty I think, acknowledging the wait to come ... and an implied confirmation that all of my documents have been received.
constant_wanderer
Anyone heard anything from U of Victoria? Â Also, it seems that most interview invites for Western have already been made. The interview weekend is next week.
student896
Not personal at all. I was accepted into OISE a few years ago, and subsequently completed the MA. I didn't turn anything down I'm just applying to the PhD now!  Oh wow, are you serious? I thought it was just something they did for funding, making you reapply. I thought as long as you were in good standing the PhD spot was reserved for you.... are you just applying to those other schools as a precaution, or are you actually worried about getting into OISE PhD?  This is really making rethink applying to OISE at all. At the moment it was my top choice, but now I'm thinking if I get other offers, I should go anywhere but there.
spunky
from the few posts i read it doesn't seem like anyone applied to UBC but i feel compelled to share stuff . my friends in social/clinical said today that probably 99% of invites have already been sent out. there're still some last-minute profs but apparently friday will be the last day. coffeeaddict29

Lovely... I guess that's gonna be a rejection for me as well. I haven't heard anything from them... Yay... Other than UBC, I'm waiting on 3 more schools but odds are that I'm going to be forced to take another year off. Thanks for the info though! Better to know than not to know. Generic_Applicant
Just thought I'd share something that has been helping my sanity and compulsive email checking.. I designate for myself the next time that I will be allowed to check my email, mostly an hour from now or so. That way I can look forward to check my email and still keep sane by not checking it every 10 minutes before that. lol.  Just thought I'd share this and I hope it helps! Psyc101
Just finished my call XD. Ditto this. edit: No need to send in official transcripts until there's a conditional acceptance!  That's great. Really glad everything turned out well  Any Laurier applicants? I received an email from a faculty I think, acknowledging the wait to come ... and an implied confirmation that all of my documents have been received.  I also recieved an email! I was very surprised that it was such a long email. It encourages us to contact additional facutly or students at the school but I do not not know if it is necessary to do so?! What do you think? I was checking like every 3 minutes before, but I really had to start controlling it. So I am going to do every hour or so as well.  I feel like so far, from analyzing the results page, most rejections/offers are for Ph.D. applicants. I feel like we(masters applicants) should start worrying more in the next couple of months instead of now. I have been telling myself this to make myself feel better and hope it is true. I'm glad it helps you too! What else helps me is assuming a rejection lol and going on about my day, as much as I can, as if nothing has and will change. Keeps me sane and will help make it even sweeter if its an acceptance. My POI at ryerson told me that we should hear this week about the results so that's what's been driving me nuts. Its Wednesday!! Lol. But it'll come when it comes. Just got to keep as sane as possible and carry on. The body is definitely taking a bit of a beating from the stress though

What do you think?  Thanks!!  Hmmm I don't think it's necessary, but if laurier is anyone's first/second choice, I think contacting might help them sleep better xD? Since this email is so welcoming, I would definitely take this chance to voice out small  and big concerns/questions with my POI. That way I might be a little more memorable, and probably be less stressed, too. That said though, I'm not going to contact anyone just because that'd actually give me more stress, plus my feeling about Laurier hasn't changed since we last talked about it in our private messages haha~  How bout you? XD

Sujie
Hi everyone! I've apied to Waterloo, U of Alberta, U of Saskatchewan, Guelph, Brock,New Brunswick and Lakehead. Has anyone heard anything from these schools yet? I've had only one interview with the POI at the U of Alberta in November. It seems that Canadian schools are slower than the US schools in their admissions, why so?

When I first read it, I was like hmmm what should I doooo?!?!?!!, but then I got distracted with testing participants and forgot about it until I was all tired out, which helped me think more calmly on what I should do (or not do) aka what I wrote to you haha!! But I'm also glad they sent that email! It's so nice of them to write something so personal and 'fun'(?). I just wish it's in a better location

Last time I applied to Saskatchewan, they emailed the first week of February. I wouldn't expect to hear back from New Brunswick until mid-February because the deadline wasn't that long ago.

Also for Clinical, Waterloo has given their first round of interviews (phone) and are deciding on Friday who to invite for in person interviews. Sujie
Thanks for replies. I am an international applicant, so I dont expect to be invited to open house etc., but I also think my chances at Ontario schools are slim. Waterloo POI told me that they admit few international students, Guelph and Brock POIs weren't very enthusiastic in their emails too. The POIs in New Brunswick and Alberta were very kind and supportive.
coffeeaddict29
Has anyone heard from Toronto? For Social Psych, yes. I had a Skype interview with the prof and 2 Skype interviews with his grad students in early January. Â Since I'm international, they didn't call me for an interview. But I think the recruitment day already happened for Social Psych. I'm still waiting to hear back but you know, no word is bad news (in my case). But the Toronto Social Psych is a joint program with all of the U of T campuses (St. George, Mississauga, Scarborough). elasticheart
Hey guys! This is from a December email from my Ryerson POI  "I will be meeting with short-listed candidates in February and they will have a chance to meet with my current grad students to hear a little more about the program and our research."  I assumed they had meant "short-listed for interviews" but it seems like most of those have already happened, and I've read a few times on here that recommendations go in next week(!?). Any ideas? If one hasn't interviewed there yet should they let that one go?  Good luck to everyone!

It may not be completely over but the chances would be low after the first round of offers go out. Sorry.
