OMG my ROSI  ACORN says "invited" does that mean I got in?!?!

Edit: This is for ACORN University of Toronto Advanced Standing. My SGS still says "Under Review"

UofT sent the advanced standing admission responses the Tuesday after Family Day (Feb 21) last year. So I am hoping we hear back from them today (Feb 20)?

Does anyone know if Carleton advanced MSW has a deposit for accepting the offer or not?

It's for University of Toronto! I thought they weren't using Rosi anymore, only Acorn - can anyone verify?

That is what I thought too!

I would interpret this as an admission socialwerqer!

I hope that is what it means, in which case, congratulations!

Thank you! I still don't trust it until I get the official letter, but so happy right now!

Good point! Hopefully, they send the letters out this week as well!

Definitely means you're in!! Congrats!! You must be so thrilled, I'm so happy for you :)  Did your status change on the SGS application portal?

Anyone else's academic's section on ACORN still blank?

Yes, mine is still blank but I didn't apply to the advanced standing stream so I'm assuming I've still got a long way to go.

Is it normal that I do not have an ACORN account? I believe I only have a SGS account.

P.S. I am not a UofT alumnus.

You receive an ACORN account through the joinID, you probably received a few emails about it - I initially thought it was just for residence. Turns out it actually gives you access to ACORN. They give you a username through their email and from there there's instructions to sign up.

If you go to page 9 or 10 of this thread there was some conversation about how to make an ACORN account. You'll need it to monitor your application status and it'll be where you receive news of an invitation. SGS will only ever indicate "Decision Made". U of T had sent out an email in October with instructions; I believe I copied them to the thread.

Now I remember. Thank you so much for your help! Has anyone else heard back from any program today?

Not yet! I wish -_- Are you waiting on advanced standing decisions or 2 year programs?

So exciting to see an acceptance!!

For everyone else, I'm right there with you! On Carleton Central, it says it is still be reviewed by the faculty of graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs! No change in mine since late Friday (approximately near 5pm). I'm hoping for some sort of change today!

Thank you! I think I am in, but still optimistically cautious, haha! I will keep you all posted on when/if my letter arrives. My status on SGS has not changed and remains "Under Review".

For UofT, from what I remember, you should have been sent a JoinID through an e-mail after you initially paid/applied. My username and password were in this e-mail. I remember you log into ACORN with your JoinID and set up a password. Let me know if you have any other questions. I just searched my e-mail and the subject line for this e-mail says "Important: Your UofT JoinID". The info you need to set up ACORN is in this e-mail.

Where are you looking on ACORN? Mine says I'm not enrolled in any programs. I just spoke to Angela at the School and she said the system crashed earlier today, though they did get to enter some acceptances for some students for the Advanced MSW. She said by early next week applicants will begin to know.

Hi folks!

First off, I want to express gratitude towards everyone who has posted so far. I've been lurking for about a month and all of your insights and information have been very useful (and anxiety-inducing tbh haha)--I really appreciate everyone who took time to post.

After doing some research following my application submission, I was convinced that I would not get into grad school. My choice is University of Toronto's Advanced Standing MSW program--Human Services Management and Leadership with a specialization in Public Health. I'm still going to wait until my letter arrives, but like some of the above posts, my status on ACORN has changed to invited! Do we know how for sure this is??

I figured I would post about my experiences to give back to the forum. I am 22 with a BSW from Carleton, B+ in the stats course, and a 3.8 GPA. I have a year of fulltime work experience as a social worker in a community health centre, and have also worked jobs related to youth engagement and LGBTQ2S throughout university. I have done  5000+ hours of unpaid work via volunteering through organizations as well as grassroots causes.

The U of T MSW was the only program that I applied to as it is my top choice, application fees are steep, and I figured I could gain work experience for a year or two if I didn't get in. After submitting my application and doing further research, I became worried about how my impact statement would affect my application. They are a clinical program but as a result of my personal experiences and education in structural social work, I really spoke from the heart about trauma and systems of oppression. As examples, I spoke about my experiences in LGBTQ2S communities, big picture transformative justice as a response to sexual violence, and feeling daunted as a social worker working with (and wanting to change) systemic barriers. I was worried about not citing sources, not using sufficient clinical terminology, and overall my values perhaps not aligning with the university.

If this information on the portal is correct, it means I got in! If this is the case, I want to say that I am very glad that I was honest in the written statement as it truly does represent who I am as a social worker. Best of luck to everyone and cheers to any future classmates of mine!

It's on the homepage when I first log in. Not sure if this means anything, but my last name is at the beginning of the alphabet. That sucks their system crashed! Hopefully people begin to hear back soon!

Here's a bigger picture of what mine looks like:
