Congrats, that’s awesome! I applied to UH’s MFA because I live here and it makes sense. BUT! It does sound like a great program because you can really make it your own. Houston is a great city, just make sure you live close-ish to campus because traffic is horrendous.

Thank you! Any area in particular?  I am looking into houses and the areas around the campus seem to be high in crime....

Had my interview with Boston today! I think it went pretty well, but I think I tripped up on my words a couple times. I was extremely nervous, so I could be misremembering things. I hope it went well!

thanks for the info, I don't know. I can't find any other info except the info from a friend. She was contacted for interview last year on last week of Jan, for Photography MFA.

@Marlonk I am dying to hear back from UCLA too - by any chance do you know if your friend received good funding from UCLA? tuition covered or anything like that?

Congrats!!! I got in as well, but I’m trying not to get too ahead of myself until the funding info comes, because that’s going to determine A lot. Did they tell how much it was for? I didn’t really get any numbers during my call.

Congratulations to you as well. They did tell me how much and it’s not enough to melt my financial concerns.

30 k iirc. But tuition is 34 k...so yeah kind of but not enough.

I called today and was informed that they don't have a formal interview process. A faculty member may choose to speak in person or not at all, so acceptance doesn't seem hinged on that.

I haven’t heard back either and it’s making me nervous. But someone from Richmond visited my website this past week so I’m holding out some hope we might hear soon? I was like one of the last to upload my supplemental material because my automated link never came, I had to email and call so I know they were having issues with the system so maybe that’s why? Lol, I’m hoping. :P

Same, I applied for painting and haven't heard a thing. I think folks in sculpture have just started to receive interview requests, so that brings some hope.

Yeah I totally get that, we’ll let’s stay in touch! I’m still waiting for funding to really know which way I’ll lean but where did you apply?

Hey everyone, found this looking for recent SAIC MFA responses.  I interviewed for Painting, Sculpture and Fiber.  No idea how I landed. Has anyone heard back?

Congrats to you both! I didn't get a phone call -- that probably means I was rejected, yes?

I'm also in the same boat for VCU Printmaking. Which is technically part of their painting program.

Yeah, it’s pretty tough around campus. It’s slowly getting better though. I would look in the Montrose, midtown, heights, and rice village areas. The smaller, cheaper units go fast so act quick if you find something! Find flood info if you can.
