    Yeah I've heard if you've already accepted one interview, tell the second school that you cannot make the interview weekend but would be eager to participate in a skype/phone interview or see if there is a "makeup" or second weekend they hold interviews (my friends in PhD psych programs say this isn't as unusual as you think) and see what they say. Most understand that there's a small window of time to interview and students often get offers for the same days. Plus, multiple offers may make you look more competitive, thus making you look more appealing to the dept. Good luck though!

    Hey I applied to Central Arkansas! Who is your POI there?? Also, I'm from Oklahoma so I'd just like to offer you some advice that was passed down to me from current OU PhD counseling students; only go there for their masters program. Apparently their doc program is going down hill fast.. idk what's going on with it though, this was all told to me at a regional conference.

    Thank you so much! I accepted the interview offer on Monday so I'll be there Feb 3rd to interview! I am soooo excited (and nervous) since it's one of my top programs! Thank you for telling me a bit about the program!

    Thank you for the pep talk, that is the beauty of this forum! Everyone is SO supportive! And yes, I am so grateful another school is considering me, let's just hope I can nail my interview because this is also a top program for me. If I can get two more interviews, I will stop stressing but until then, bring on my nerves! I was not expecting so many schools to have such a quick turn around with offers (I was thinking we wouldn't hear till at least Jan!) so the stress is real right now. I will keep my fingers crossed for you, good luck!!!! Def let me know WHEN you get an offer because I'm sure you will!

    SERIOUSLY. I entered in my school's correct code directly after my test a few months before apps were due so it was completely out of my mind. Then of course I don't notice until I go to submit, soooo frustrating! I saw someone got an interview from that program but I have no idea if maybe more offers will be sent out. I'm so upset because my POI is my dream POI, you know?

    ETS sent my scores to the wrong dept at one of my schools too! I caught it a couple days before apps were due. It let me submit my app but I have no idea if the dept "okay'd" them or not... so stressful since it's one of my top schools too. I am feeling your pain!

    I'm also applying to both counseling (3) and clinical (6) PhD programs but my first interview offer was from a counseling school (Southern Mississippi, yay! ) so I hope it's cool I join the thread! I'm also applying to a couple forensic psych MA's and a counseling MA. How is everyone holding up so far?

    Thank you! I am pretty excited but still in shock, being my first time applying I honestly had low expectations on getting invitations. Who have you heard from so far?? And congrats on THREE interviews, that is amazing!

    I'll be turning 25 next month! I went an extra year in undergrad for a second degree and took the past two years off for research/clinical experience

    Dr. Morgan! If you're forensic, I'm sure that's who you are applying to right? I'm not sure if you have met with him yet but he is super nice just fyi if you get an interview! He told me he looks at GRE scores pretty intensely and mine don't stand out so I'm not getting my hopes up too much about an interview but after talking with him for the past year, I've got my fingers crossed.

    I think Texas Tech (counseling) or Missouri Columbia (clinical) are my top. I honestly don't know how I'll choose if I get offers from both. My POI at Tech is my mentors BFF and I've already met with him so I know our personalities click..as for Missouri, I just really love my POI's research projects and lab.

    I'm applying to both counseling and clinical programs. I applied to any labs with a focus on forensic assessments, juvenile delinquency and treatment of mentally disordered persons in correctional facilities

    Thank you for the advice! I think I was apprehensive to respond because I thought I'd hear back from most of my programs around the same time. I have to make a decision by the 19th (so obviously before I'll hear back from the majority) and I will be accepting the offer. This is my first time applying so I think I just feel a bit nervous!

    Yeah I didn't post in that thread since it was labeled "clinical psychology" and some of the programs I applied to are counseling. I figured this could be for any of the psych programs instead of one select group. Thanks for responding though! I do keep up with that thread as well.

    Hey guys! Today I received an offer to come for an interview from Southern Mississippi's counseling psychology program. I am super excited since I get to meet with my desired faculty member but is it strange that I'm already hearing back after I just submitted my application last week? How long do you guys think I should wait to reply so I don't seem too desperate? I wasn't expecting to hear back from any of the schools until January so I'm still a little in shock. I figured we could use this thread to hear where everyone is getting in and for any questions we may have about the interview process!

    Not sure if it is remotely what you are looking for but you may check out Human Factors psychology. Texas Tech has a program (MA or PhD) for example. Not sure exactly what they research (and there's other programs out there) but I personally know some HF students and it sounds like you may find some type of fit there.

    Thank you for your insight! Luckily, one of my letter writers was my advanced psych stats professor (made an A, thank Jesus) and is aware of my anxiety about my scores

    So I am seeing on a couple applications that I can describe "are there any other unique factors that we should consider when evaluating your application" What do you guys think they are meaning by this? Is this an opportunity for people who may have low GPA/GRE/No research experience to explain why they are still a competitive applicant? My GRE scores (quant mostly) aren't stellar but I would hate to mention how I'm just not a good standardized test taker if that is not what the question is implying. Any advice is welcome! Oh and good luck to all my fellow applicants who have applications due this week!
