  1. School Name: University of Central ArkansasDate Interview Invite Received: 1/20/17Degree: PhDType: Counseling PsychologyTrack:Notified via: EmailFrom: DCTInterview Date: 2/3 ( interview will be from 8:30am-1:00pm) Additional Info: POI is FV. DCT did not state anything in email about meeting with POI specifically. Hoping they will let me reschedule interview for following day or before/after since I have an interview already on Feb 3, ugh
  2. Oh cool! Who's your POI?? And yes, I recently got in contact with a student from the lab I'm applying to who I'll be staying with.
  3. My POI apparently is allowing applicants to do Skype interviews so I wouldn't cross them off your list if you think you may still have a shot!
  4. No problem! I guess I should've specified I meant the 30th of Jan... my bad, my brain is mush from all the stress
  5. I'm wait listed there but heard from someone who has a interview there that counseling interviews are on the 30th! Hope that helps!
  6. I noticed two people posted about interviews to Kansas (KU) clinical child track, if you wouldn't mind PMing me about who emailed (POI, AA, etc) and any other details about the interview offer, I'd appreciate it. You don't have to tell me who your POI is of course if you are uncomfortable. Thanks! Definitely would have preferred to hear good news on my birthday but I guess it's better than getting straight rejections
  7. I have quite a few friends in many different areas of psychology (clinical, counseling, and experimental) who all have been trained to teach college courses. Most only teach for undergraduate classes but I have heard of a few who have taught for grad level classes. Most of the time they only teach the lab portion of a course so yeah, that sounds super unusual that they're in charge of core classes. Totally understand your concern because I'd feel the same way.
  8. I got the same one from their child psych program! I thought, definitely not filling that out until I get a hard yes for an interview but trying to stay positive
  9. Anyone else apply to KU (Kansas) Clinical Child track?? Got an email last week they were reviewing applications and just wanted to check in to see if anyone has been contacted yet. Thanks!
  10. Nice to know I'm not alone! Kind of crazy to think we weren't apart of the mass rejection letter and even crazier that yours is still under review. I haven't checked mine but maybe I should! It just gives me such anxiety thinking about it haha
  11. Dang, wonder why I didn't at least get a rejection email with everyone else? I'd like to know rather than be in limbo
  12. Sorry guys but posting about Nebraska-Lincoln clinical track again. I saw some people posted on the results page they received rejection emails and I was wondering if it was a mass rejection email or not?? I haven't heard anything positive or negative yet and I am trying to brace myself!
  13. Congrats to the people who received invites to interview at Nebraska Lincoln! Would you mind PMing who your POI'S are?? Thank you!
  14. I also applied to Nebraska-Lincoln clinical so if you guys hear anything, will you keep me in the loop as well? Thanks!!
  15. I am looking for something to read to keep my mind off applications so if anyone has any suggestions for thrillers (crime, psychological) I would really appreciate it!
  16. Suit up!
  17. Most schools I applied to reach out by email (I think) so I might be in the clear. Three schools let me change the number on my applicant profile so I may just email the remaining. I also checked the admission results page for how each of my schools contact students and all but one seem to email for interview invites. If I get any more interviews, I figured I could mention it when I accept the interview or when I get to campus. Does that sound okay?
  18. Hey guys, not sure what forum I should've posted in so I created a this. Due to unforeseen circumstances, I needed to get a new phone plan and it was way too difficult to keep my original phone number. So as of right now, I haven't cancelled my original number but would like to ASAP. Only problem is, many grad schools I applied to do not give me the option to change the phone number on my apps. Advice on what I should do? Keep my old number until after I find out about all my schools/interviews? I wouldn't want to cancel it and not get an interview because that's their form of contact. Any advice is appreciated!
  19. Have a great holiday weekend everyone! Hope we can all stop stressing for a few days and enjoy the break
  20. OSU is fine! I'm talking about ou's program. I had friends go to OSU and LOVED it
  21. Hotline bling
  22. Love that there is a vent thread!! I am getting SO discouraged with apps this year. One interview so far (and one where I'm an alternate) and I am so freaking terrified that I won't be getting in...I've sacrificed so much for this. Most importantly the love of my life who I chose not to follow to grad school so I could work on building up my research experience for my own grad apps. I am so ready for the next chapter of my life to begin...unless I don't get in ughhhhh It's so hard to be happy for fellow applicants who are getting tons of interviews when you have the same cred's but you're just sitting in silence staring at your email
  23. I found out I was an alternate at one of my tops too. Trying to stay positive but I would kill to interview with my POI. I hope we both get lucky enough to get interviews!
  24. Yeah from what past PhD candidates have told me, suits for women are pretty standard for interviews. You may also try a business appropriate dress with a blazer or a business skirt and blazer. Basically what you'd wear to present at a national conference is the usual! Oh and wear comfy but appropriate flats. Many programs will give you a tour of campus so heels may not be wise, up to you though!
  25. Yay! I applied to Nebraska-Lincoln too but clinical. I believe my friend from undergrad is in the school program there and I know she LOVES it! She told me nothing but great things about the school when we chatted about it. Good luck!
