No I didn’t defer because I was dumb and didn’t know that there was an option to do so.. Thank you though!

I was accepted into a school for fall 2017 and turned down the offer and didn’t attend any program due to personal reasons and therefore had to reapply for the fall 2018. I have an interview offer from that school that I was initially accepted to for the fall 2017 semester but I was wondering, if I go in for the interview, should I mention that I was accepted the first time? Maybe I’m thinking about it too much because I’m nervous but answers will be greatly appreciated and best of luck to everybody else waiting to hear back from all their schools! ??

I've been waiting too but just decided to attend Adelphi .. I didn't want to go to St. John's in the first place and just applied but I honestly just want AN ANSWER
-
I also got the rejection from Queens College but through email because I had an interview and they said that this time, the applicants were at an exceptionally high level .. Wasn't expecting too much since they only accept 16 students. Seems like I'm going to Adelphi since that's the only school I've been accepted to .. but I also wanted to go there because they have a good reputation and I've only heard positive things about their program (even though the tuition is crazy). I'm also waiting on St. Johns but they are taking forever to give back an answer and I need to submit my deposit to Adelphi by the 15th

Length of programs and tuition- NJ

I know Seton Hall isn't mentioned here but did anybody apply there and know when to expect to hear back? Thanks -
They told me the same thing and told us that we were there because of our stats and all & even if we don't get into QC, they were sure that we'd get accepted into another program. How did you feel about your interview? I'm currently an undergrad there & have been to the SLH center often so it felt like home and was pretty relaxed haha. I'm honestly just really grateful that I was even offered an interview because I wasn't so confident in my stats that I wasn't even planning to apply there so not expecting too much and won't be very sad even if I don't get the acceptance.
-
@SpeechLaedy I'm currently at QC for undergrad and love the program and professors here. I saw an acceptance on the results page so I'm nervous now. Have you received any call or notification? Receiving an answer in May would be torture.. I only received an acceptance from Adelphi & the deadline is due on the 15th of April and spent another week without any answers so I'm guessing I'll have to submit my deposit I feel like NY schools take EXTRA long ..
-
I'm still waiting on St John's but sending out more acceptances after April 15 sounds like a foolish thing for them to do, considering many schools require deposits to be sent in by the same day.. Wouldn't nobody really attend that school if they already decided on other ones (well only if they got into other programs) .. I just wish they'd send out more answers just because all this waiting is killing us

I've been waiting to hear back since people got accepted this week and my heart skipped a beat when I saw that I got an email from Hofstra but it was asking me to attend an open house ..?

@SpeechLaedy I was actually really nervous cause it was my first and only interview with a grad program so I prepared a lot but they ended up asking nothing speech related except asking me how I got to where I was. Group interview, was really relaxed, and was asked questions that came up at the moment (and totally not speech related AT ALL) cause I guess they wanted to see how quick/creative you can be with your answers.. Not sure how it went cause I kind of feel like I was overshadowed by this one girl but just hoping for the best. Did you find out if you got the call?

Waiting on New York Schools

Which CUNYs are you waiting for? -
I applied for the Fall 2017 semester so I asked my professors in late April (few weeks before classes ended). I asked to meet with them before they got busy with finals and I didn't want to bother them in the summer. Also, a few of them only write letters in the summer so definitely find out when your professors write them. I would suggest asking them before the fall semester cause they'll probably be busy with the new semester and many people seem to ask then. It would also be ideal to ask early so you can meet with them a couple of times for advice and reviewing of your personal statement. My professors were appreciative of me asking in advance when I told them these reasons. Best of luck!

I've only heard great things about Adelphi. I also received a letter stating that there would be no tuition increase (thank God) but what negative things did you hear about the faculty? Also, I remember somebody said they attended open house last week & the acceptance size is 100. Garden City has 50 students which are split into a cohort of two, and the Manhattan Center & Sunday program are the other 50. Clinicals begin in the first semester for one cohort, and I haven't attended an open house before but my sibling used to go there & the campus seemed nice and quiet.
