My supervisor feels stressed. I can sense it in her emails.

First interview for my research today I also did a lot of online shopping and I'm happy about my choices! Started again to train, I am SO sore physically but I am not giving up.

My research contributions are mostly working as a RA and conference papers/poster presentations no publications (except for a book chapter but that's not in an academic context. I included that in my CCV)

I will approximately have 12 hours of focus groups/interviews (for 48 hours of transcription) to do this term. This is the part I like the least about doing qualitative research. Transcribing.

The further you advance in your studies in this field, I have a sense that grades become less important (although I wouldn't say they aren't important at all, especially if you want grants and scholarships). At my uni for instance, they take work experience and volunteer experience into account as well. In SW, they generally want "well-rounded" individuals sort of.

Usually the minimum is around 3.5 but I would aim a bit higher. Work experience count as well.

I actually led a discussion this morning and I had no idea what I was doing (because the prof did not give me clear guidelines). But it went okay. But I feel like the students could tell that I did not know what I was doing

Well, I will have about 12 hours of interviews/focus groups to transcribe. How long do you think that is going to take me? 48 hours?

I feel overwhelmed and the semester has just begun.

Do you think we'll get an email even if we don't get selected? I should have the answer to the internal review process by October 19.

I legit don't understand why it is so hard for me to find a boyfriend. I'm smart, kind, good listener, mature, etc. People tell me I am pretty. Yet, at almost 26, I have been single my entire life. I hate this shit.

Hi! I am already into my program, but am doing an option in gender and women's studies with my major Love feminist studies!

The semester has just started and I already feel overwhelmed (workload and extracurricular activities!) I'm used to manage a lot at the same time, but yeah, I'm a bit anxious.

Anxious a little bit about next class because a former classmate (and now a current student for the class I am TAing for) screamed on the first day of the course that I have done a TEDx talk. Everyone applauded. Instructor asked that I send her the link so she can send it to the class. She did not know I had done a TEDx talk, I was quite low profile about it because it's regarding my mental health journey. I'm used to have people talking to me about this, but I'm afraid it will bring students who are struggling to share personal stories regarding their mental health in university and I am unsure where to draw the line about my role regarding this since this is the first class I am TAing, ever. Wow.

I'm hesitating. They come in my hometown in February, so these consultations seem to be a very long process.

Do you plan to attend those public consultations?

I haven't heard anything and my current university doesn't have any new information as well. I feel just like you, I'm curious to know what the changes will be.

I came back from Europe yesterday and I'm exhausted. I have to TA tomorrow morning..

Ok, so one of my academic referee said she would write the letter tomorrow. I'm reassured because she was the one I was the most worried about! The other one has not gotten back to me yet, but she is my master's supervisor, so I'm sure it'll be fine. Yes!

I did my conference paper at an international conference this week. I did not have as much content as I would've love to but yeah, it's done.
