  1. Utah and Auburn both have extended interviews. Utah' interview dates are 2/8 or 2/10 and Auburn's is 2/11. Though I think someone mentioned Auburn's DCT said they hadn't all gone out.
  2. Similarly, I feel like it's bad form (and possibly hazardous to your career) to say things like "I heard bad things about this POIs lab" in the results section when you are identifying the POI initials and indicating that the POI talked to you. The internet is really not as anonymous as you think...
  3. Seriously! That's the whole purpose of having the forums in addition to the results!
  4. Whaaaaat? That's messed up. I'm sorry that happened to you. They should let you interview anyway just for that.
  5. I got a kind of generic email from the school of public health admissions. I haven't heard anything about funding yet! I'm not sure when they make funding decisions, but hopefully soon!
  6. Best of luck to you, too! The only DrPH program I applied to was University of Kentucky in Epidemiology, and I received an acceptance on January 13. I submitted my application super early though (late October) because I wanted to put all my SOPHAS apps in at the same time.
  7. Can the person who got the Harvard interview please PM me your POI? Thank you!
  8. If there were capes, I'd probably turn it down. Because I DID learn from the Incredibles. But I would go to superhero school without capes.
  9. My understanding was that some POIs had contacted some (but maybe not all) applicants and that the rest were supposed to go out yesterday. May not be accurate. May have happened and I did not get one. I'm just holding on to tiny slivers of hope.
  10. Today, Northwestern wants me to "become a powerful mental health counselor." I guess they thought putting powerful in the subject line would appeal to me more? Do I get to be a superhero? Are there capes involved?
  11. There was a post on this thread yesterday that Rutgers interviews were going to be extended yesterday but none of us heard anything and nothing was posted. I haven't seen any Harvard interviews extended at all.
  12. If you can get a funded masters, I would do it. If you can't, it's not worth the debt, and I would keep working as an RA. Try to get as many pubs as you can. Improve your GRE scores. Find ways to network with people. I think that's what helped me way more than my masters.
  13. I actually agree with you! I've heard some ridiculous stories about people getting turned down by rescues for reasons that have nothing to do with their ability to take care of a pet. Most of what is in our shelter here too is pits and chihuahuas, and because of breed restrictions, they usually get stuck there. Some breeders are reputable and fine, and there's nothing wrong with getting a dog there. I'm not sure what the solution is, though...
  14. Does anyone know if Boston U epi does interviews? It seems like other programs within the SPH do and have sent them out but I can't tell with epi.
  15. @GreenEyedTrombonist he clearly can't understand how condescending he's being. I'm just done.
  16. Did this happen and I just didn't get one? I didn't see anything posted.
  17. @spectastic my advice to the OP is, as others have said, seek advice from a professional such as a nutritionist. You're interpreting my statement about needing to eat protein as "you must eat excessive amounts of protein and/or eat protein exclusively". All I said was that you need to eat protein, which is accurate, and then you proceeded to talk down to me by explaining that "sugar in fig newtons is different from oranges" and then calling your incorrect interpretation of my statement "stupid and wrong". You should go back and read @GreenEyedTrombonist'S last paragraph again before offering your supposed "best advice". Here, I'll even put it here for you again:
  18. I'm out of upvotes, @GreenEyedTrombonist, but if I could upvote your last paragraph a hundred times, I would.
  19. Yeah no one actually suggested that. Maybe if you didn't spend so much time talking down to us, people might listen to you.
  20. You linked to a blog. A blog is not an empirical source. Try https://www.splcenter.org/hatewatch We do, in fact, have evidence. And it's the subset of Trump supporters who now feel it's acceptable to commit hate crimes that we are afraid of. You keep insisting that hate crimes against Asians are commited only by black people but you've only provided anecdotal evidence. And tbh, is pretty racist in itself.
  21. Personal anecdotes =|= evidence. Just because you had this experience does not mean others fears, concerns, or experiences are invalid.
  22. Seriously! Can't they spread them out just a little?
