  1. Thanks for sharing! I hope they have an alternate day...
  2. I did this too. I only picked schools with faculty with a very close research match to mine who were taking students. I emailed all of my POIs in August. If the website said they were taking students, I asked another question. I also set up meetings with two POIs at national conferences before applications went in.
  3. I wasn't talking about your exercise habits, I was talking about the OP's. Further, beyond damaging effects of ketosis diets, I have seen no scientific evidence that eating more than 130g of protein a day makes you gain fat (it may make you gain weight if you are building muscle, however). My biggest problem with your responses, though, is that you are still preaching one size fits all nutrition which does not work.
  4. Dude. No. If you are exercising, and the OP said she is, you HAVE to eat protein. Lean protein (chicken, fish) or protein shakes, but if you're not eating protein, you're just going to burn off all your muscle. Also as @GreenEyedTrombonist said, everyone has different needs. What works for you may not work for other people. Fasts make me end up eating more but they do work for some people if done right.
  5. High Fidelity (one of my favorite books/movies)
  6. @GreenEyedTrombonist @CoffeeFueledAnxiety I've gotten those same emails from Northwestern and USC! Also, NYU thinks I should pursue both counseling and speech language pathology for some reason. Thankfully I didn't apply to any of those schools, or I'd be having heart attacks every day.
  7. I applied to the Epidemiology program and haven't heard anything
  8. How are you guys phrasing emails to check on application status, and are you contacting your POI, the admin, or both?
  9. Recent Rutgers poster, would be so kind as to ease my anxiety my DMing me your POI? It seems like they are trickling in and I still haven't heard anything.
  10. I'm sorry! That seems harsh. They wouldn't do a Skype interview or offer another date?
  11. Poor house
  12. Yep, as @LovePsychx3 said, Auburn's have been extended and the interviews are on the 11th. Sorry :/
  13. Can I vent about how the UTA computer science folks are having a full on conversation on the results page? Like, that's what the forum is for. Can you guys please stop clogging up the results page and move it over here?
  14. My Rutgers application status literally told me to be patient. I logged in just to look and it had a link that said "no decision" which I clicked on and it had this whole paragraph about how admissions take time and I should be patient.
  15. Got an email from VCU Public Health admissions and got really excited...nope, just confirming they received my application. Which I submitted two months ago. Argh.
  16. I'm doing data entry at work today and I'm only allowing myself to check my email after every 10. But it's still a LOT. And you're right about it being Friday and unlikely hear, but it hasn't stopped me...
  17. Nope. I haven't received any official rejections from POI or otherwise. A lot of places wait until after offers are made to send out rejections.
  18. One year a long time ago, there were penguins who didn't wear hats when

  20. Congrats! I know the ABCT listserv sends out jobs a lot. I imagine you could also check APA divisions to see if they have postings as well. Also, your professors are great resources. They likely get emails about job postings all the time. Talk to them and see if they'll send some to you! The next couple months are when things start to really pick up as far as job posts. I've started getting a bunch on the listservs I'm on already. Apply to anything you're remotely qualified for--these jobs are competitive.
  21. I loved that book!
  22. Hell hound
  23. Man there's so many of them now and I still haven't heard anything.
  24. Can the person who got the Rutgers interview please PM your POI? Thanks!
  25. I'm 28 and hadn't taken a math class in over a decade when I took the GRE. I had a little trouble relearning/remembering some concepts (combinations and permutations would. Not. Stick.) but did well. Magoosh is helpful. I used Kaplan. The strategies vary. Kaplan teaches how to take the test while Magoosh tends to teach the actual math, so you might try both. Also agree with not paying attention to the score predictor. I way outperformed it.
