  1. For everyone posting lists of schools and asking if anyone has heard, please go to http://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/ and use the search function to find the school. If it's not posted yet this year, none of us have probably heard.
  2. If you can get into a funded masters program, do it. Otherwise, it's not worth the money. I don't know what your area of interest is, but a lot of fields have listservs where professors post RA or lab manager jobs that are intended for post-bacc people headed for grad school. You can also check HERCjobs (higher ed recruitment consortium) or Indeed. I've also cold emailed people I was interested in working with--just say something to the effect of I'm really interested in your work, I want to get more experience before grad school, do you have any paid or volunteer positions available. Most people were very kind and understanding.
  3. I keep getting speech languagenpathology ones, too. I have no idea how they generate them but it seems like I get one every day! @GreenEyedTrombonist if I get an email from Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, I will for sure open it.
  4. Most of mine have been for masters degrees. It's like, thanks for your confidence in my ability to get a PhD? Haha. Also I already have a masters and I really don't need another one.
  5. This is incredible. How do people do this? I can barely dress myself, haha.
  6. The only epi programs I've heard from are University of Rochester (interview) and University of Kentucky (acceptance, but that is DrPH rather than PhD). I think Penn sent out interviews already.
  7. Same! NYU and Northwestern keep blasting me with their Masters in Counseling programs which I have no interest in.
  8. I keep getting spam FROM schools. Between ETS's "information service" (I.e. Scam to sell my information to schools), alumni associations from two previous schools, and BU's School of Public Health weekly update, I get so many emails from schools that are not relevant and it's irritating. But I check my spam folder anyway, juuuuust in case.
  9. Does anyone interviewing at Utah have any details about lodging? Is it with graduate students or do we need to get a hotel? I haven't heard anything but wondered if others had.
  10. You're likely interviewing with both and will be interviewing with other faculty as well. That's how these interviews typically work in my experience.
  11. Utah's POIs have been contacting and interviewing people. The interview date is 2/10 and 2/8 is the alternate date.
  12. So many places have interviews that day! It's crazy. I hope none of the ones I'm waiting on have interviews that day too.
  13. No problem! Good luck! Philly is a fun place.
  14. Center City is safe but expensive. I don't know a lot about University City.
  15. When I lived in Philly (worked at Temple), I lived in Manayunk, which was relatively cheap, safe, and interesting. If I recall, though, it's hard to get from the Manayunk/Roxborough area to west Philly where Penn is on the train. I know a lot of people lived in south Philly or further out in the "suburb" areas.

  18. Anyone know what area of psych that Rutgers post was? :/ I'm so anxious.
  19. Pocket lining
  20. Silver bells
  21. Anyone want to claim the Hopkins mental health interview? I was under the impression they didn't do interviews.
  22. Hi there--been in this boat. If you can get funding for a masters degree, it may help you get in next round. If you can't and would have to go into debt, I would suggest trying to get a full time research position if you can find one. I know it hurts (trust me, this is my fifth round) but don't give up.
  23. @BrianPsych I'm waiting on Rutgers, too. If I hear anything, I'll let you know!
  24. Hang in there! It's still early!
  25. Meeting agenda
