NYC Grad Applicants Fall 2018

Recommended Posts

For those who were accepted into Queens today, when did you interview? I'm trying to figure out if they called everyone today, or if they are calling on a rolling basis based on interview dates. I interviewed 3/9 and haven't heard anything yet and am starting to get a little nervous!

Hi! I was accepted today and I interviewed 3/2. I think they're doing it on a rolling basis. When I interviewed they said we could hear anytime after 3/26.

Thank you! That makes me feel a lot better :)

I'm glad! Good luck :)

I saw that you were accepted to Touro. Did your portal change once you were accepted? I'm getting nervous because I haven't heard from them.

Has anyone committed to St Johns, or Hofstra I have only seen a few acceptances from both or emailed the admissions directors if they haven't heard back yet? I'm curious because both programs dont seem to have a huge amount of acceptances yet.

For those that applied to St Johns I know they do an unofficial waitlist, and that accept students based upon space in the program, but I know a lot of people haven't heard back yet so hopefully soon!

I finally heard back from Hofstra and accepted my spot on the wait list.

Does anybody know anything about the chances of getting off their wait list or how many acceptances they usually offer?

Anyone still waiting to hear back from St.Johns, LIU Post, LIU Brooklyn and NYMC?

I have heard back from all my schools except for St. Johns. I honestly think they lost my application. I started to fill it out in October and then received an email saying they were changing their online application in November. I freaked and finished my application and submitted it before they changed applications (which I called and they said I could do). I then received an email early December saying they were looking at my application. However, shortly after that I got an email with the link for a portal and when I logged on it said I had no application. I called them and argued with the lady in admissions because she couldn't find my application either. She eventually said she found it (she was spelling my name wrong). I'm not sure if anyone else has had this issue. I have no intentions of going there but am still curious of a response. If I don't hear by May I think I am going to call again to see what the issue is. It is frustrating to go through the application process and pay money to hear no response.

I had some confusion with my application too, I just want to get an answer back already the wait is too much and very close to the April 15th deadline

Anyone heard from or have any information on Touro. An admissions counselor there said that applicants would hear by June 1, which doesn't really make any sense to me since everyone will have decided by April 15th.

Greetings from a 2019 applicant! Saw this thread up in my recents and thought I'd comment. I visited NYU (out-of-state) for a prospective student session in the fall and applied there. I've noticed that a lot of individuals from New York apply to many schools in the state besides NYU (or it doesn't seem as common) -- I'm curious if there's a reason for this, and being in-state you may have more insight. Please share if you want to! :)

NYU is extremely expensive. If you're from NY, chances are you are trying to get into a state school since they are so much cheaper and in some people's opinions offer a better education/program.
