HollyG Posted February 24, 2018 Share Posted February 24, 2018 I just interviewed for Cal State LA yesterday and I was awkward and had trouble thinking of answers to some of the questions. I am pretty sure I will only be chosen if everyone else who gets in chooses a different school! Also who else thought the writing prompt was weird? It seemed more appropriate for someone applying for a degree in counseling. I also interviewed for Chapman and I had a really great rapport with the professor so maybe I have a chance there. At least the interview prompt was about the role of a speech pathologist so I could use what I had learned in my classes. Didnt get an email from Long Beach so I guess that’s a no. Has anyone heard from Fullerton or CSUN? I’m pretty sure Fullerton said they do interviews but I don’t know if CSUN does. Does anyone know? For Cal State LA. Well I think the idea behind writing samples are to compare the writing you provide with your letter of intent to make sure you really wrote the letter. How would you resolve a conflict between coworker/supervisor, and something about adding to do a diverse campus. Notifications in 3 weeks. Still waiting to hear from CSUN or Fullerton. They had some issues with accreditation last year and had a public hearing on Monday, so I'm thinking they're really behind with all of that. Meanwhile, I interviewed for one school, received two acceptances, and received three rejections. My top pick accepted me yesterday, so I'm not sure if I would interview at this point anyway. I thought I was completely prepared but was asked several content based questions on areas I have not learned much about yet. still have several outstanding prerequisites if I were to be admitted and some of the questions came from those specific courses. I am wishing I had waited to interview till I had finished my program. Pretty bummed as it was my alma mater and I really like what I have heard about the program. Thanks for the heads up! Although I still haven’t heard from them so now I’m definitely thinking I won’t be getting emailed. Hopefully they understand that you just haven’t taken the courses yet. I would still have some hope! You got an interview at the very least! And that’s after seeing your transcripts so they must be interested still! Good luck to you!
