Ice cream, STAT! I’m gonna stock up today, I think.

I'm lactose intolerant ?

My Xanax and I will comfort each other... (Me to my therapist: "I just need something, you don't understand, my life flashes before my eyes every time I refresh my email." Her: "Alright, fine. I'll do this for you. But just this once.")

Man, I wish that cinema studies departments were as communicative as English folks. I've been forced to sort of just assume that they will operate on a similar-ish timeline.

waiting on chicago too?

Chicago, Yale, Toronto and Madison, plus Stanford MTL! I sort of assume because English is usually the flagship humanities department of these universities that others in proximal departments will follow their lead

Hi all, just wanted to let you know that my friend interviewed with Notre Dame (English) last Friday and they told him that decisions would go out on Feb 8!

I have so many questions about this given that their big interview day is Feb 8. Are they gonna let us know as soon as we leave? Do they already know who they’re admitting and just inviting us to make sure we’re real people?

I’m glad I planned a last minute vacation this weekend so I can process my Chicago rejection on the beach!

Much better than my "work everyday so you can't think about anything else" plan which isn't very effective and definitely not any fun.

I really might die of anxiety before decisions come out so on the off chance I get in anywhere I’ll be freeing up a place on the waitlist l o l

There are a few fellowships I'm thinking of applying to but rn I am so paralyzed thinking about decisions and the possibility of a shut-out that it's making me stressed to put the cart before the horse. Anyone else in this boat?

People who interviewed last year at Notre Dame said that they received their decisions before boarding on their return flight. I'm guessing that they make notes during the visit and compare them before the 8th.

Yep, I am right there with you.

Also I haven't had the stamina to actually do the fellowship applications.  I don't have the emotional or mental energy to invest in anything else right now.

THIS. Exactly. My brain is like a deconstructed breakfast burrito right now.....a MESS. I’ve convinced myself that i’ll be face to face with a shut-out and without a back-up plan. Not really sure where to go from here lol.

Thanks! That’s both really exciting and nerve-wrecking...

I didn't realize it was only 5! One day last week I was out by 9:30am, so I feel better about that knowing it's only 5 haha
