2018-2019 Application Thread

A professor from Harvard GSAS called an applicant yesterday and admitted her/him (according to grad cafe's polisci admission results page). Has anyone else heard from Harvard? Could this have been spam? #Asking4AFriend

Thank you!

And for those who claimed acceptance and waitlisted of GWU. Does your portal get updated?

Mine still shows "You application is under review." I assume it is already a rejection.

My portal updated yesterday, but the email came out last Friday, so there was definitely a lag but it has been updated.

In other news- I got a rejection email from Emory. A bummer but it makes my relief to have heard back from GWU even more real.

When did y'all get the Emory email? Have you had any correspondence with them prior?

Thanks!

I wish they could send acceptances and rejections at the same time or at least, in a short period, but not let the rest hang in there.

has anyone received acceptances to emory yet? Seems odd its only rejections so far

Wondering the same thing. Historically I know they've done some phone calls before sending the email, so idk what's going on here. But I'm also not trying to rule out that maybe there are multiple waves of rejections ???

For real? not gonna lie that throws the whole "made peace with my rejection" out the window now.

My POI at OSU emailed me and mentioned all of their admits have now been contacted. They emphasized how difficult the application pool was this year.

It is probably spam because every year on January 24 or January 25 a person writes the same thing as I got a call from POI at Harvard and got accepted.

Imagine being so committed to yearly trolling a bunch of 23 year olds

There are many PSR people who do not have anything to do and just troll people. I am not sure if you ever read PSR but they really speak about trolling thegradcafe sometimes.
