If you're a domestic applicant, you are probably being waitlisted. I've sent emails to:

University of South Dakota

University of South Florida

Florida State University

Ohio State University

Rutgers University

University of Virginia

University of Louisville

University of Kentucky

P.S.  I'm an international applicant in Biomedical or biomolecular fields

From your list I applied to University of Virginia and haven't heard anything yet, so thank you for posting that! When you contacted them did they say something about international applications being different?

You're welcome!

I contacted them about 12 days ago. One of my friends is a PhD candidate at Ohio State University and told me OSU reviews the domestic applicants earlier (like many other institutes).

One of the University of Virginia professors also told me that they evaluate Americans first!

I might actually be dying... I haven't heard anything from Northwestern DGP or UChicago. Do you think this means I'm rejected or that there's a chance I could be on a waitlist? I think all their interview weekends have passed.

There is a high chance that you are already rejected. Many schools will ghost you till the end of the application cycle. However, I heard that some schools send interviews in mid-Feb and even March. But I would say you should start thinking about plan B. Good luck!

If the interview weekends have passed, there's probably little to no hope unless you're an international student.

How long after the interview would it seem acceptable to contact a program to inquire about decisions? Or is it best to avoid doing that entirely? How are ya'll coping with the wait?

I usually ask during the interviews to avoid unnecessary stress. POIs normally reply within days while programs usually take longer. I would avoid emailing them within the time frame they provided. If you didn't ask, I think two weeks after you talked to a POI or one month after the program interview would be a good time to follow up (just my opinion)? If the interview happened not long ago, you could always send a follow-up email to thank them for their time and casually ask about the timeline.

I am done with most of my interviews and waiting for them to get back to me (they told me it would take a few weeks), so I got myself a 2000 pc jigsaw puzzle to kill time lol

Ah I did ask, and they said a "few weeks". What is A FEW SIR. Two weeks have passed since the interview, and I had thought I would hear back by now because I know they wrapped up the last of their interviews with me. But I don't want to be bothersome either.

Hahaha that sounds neat! Must think of investing in something similar. Here's to good news arriving soon for all of us!

I got an acceptance to UGA today! It's from the program director and it's unofficial, but they seem to suggest it's all but official and we're just waiting for the Graduate School to finalize everything. I can finally say with relative certainty that I WILL be starting a PhD in the fall! FWIW, the interview weekend was 1/30-2/1, so two full weeks passed. Today was the beginning of week 3 post-interview.

Has anyone heard back from Pittsburgh MCDB and Rutgers Biochem? Seems like most of the talk on this forum is around top tier programs. Can't relate lol ?

I recently heard back from Rutgers Biochemistry about 2 weeks ago

Did anyone who attended the second UMass Med interview date hear any news back yet? The Jan 23-24 date. I saw one result from the first interview date that was 3 weeks after that one so I’m wondering when to expect news

There was a wave that went out on Jan 31st and one of the people that posted said they interviewed Jan 23-25th.

Oh I see, thanks for sending that

Any idea if I haven't heard anything yet there's still hope at this point?

No idea. Somebody said (in January) they might add a third interview weekend (in February). If they did, I imagine any final wave of acceptances would be a week or two after that.

Did they tell you when they were going to send out acceptances for the second weekend?

No, they didn't say anything. When I was there on the 24th, they mentioned they were wrapping up decisions from the first weekend (the 9-10) and getting ready to send those out, so I expected maybe 2-3 weeks or so from my date, which is why I'm surprised they seemed to have sent out decisions for the second weekend just a week after it happened.

Thanks for your insight though, it sucks it's the weekend but I'll try and contact them next week to see if they have any more info about my status.

The decisions from the first weekend came out later than what they had originally said, so it seemed like they were waiting to send out both at once.

I heard from them, but other people I met during the first weekend said the staff (KK, BB) don't reply to status emails so they don't know what's going on either. They haven't been doing what they did last year nor what they said they were going to do at the visit. It's also unclear if they did add the third weekend or not.

I imagine they'll send out anything else by next Friday, as that's the deadline to apply for PREP, which they sometimes refer people to.

Thanks for your insight! It’s sort of nice to hear that at least I’m not alone in being confused. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see if anything changes next week then

I'm late to this thread and I've already received most of my rejections and other responses, but I'm curious as to what you all think of my application. I applied to all schools that didnt require the GRE since my scores were low and it didnt work for me too well. Is anyone attending the Brandeis interviews in February? Who got waitlisted and did they tell you you were in a "high spot" on it?? What does that mean? Am I number 1 out of 8 or number 10 out of 20?? Someone explain to me how the waitlists work.

Also has anyone heard anything from UMass Amherst?

I just attended NW-DGP this past weekend. That is their last interview weekend.
