Anyone heard anything from Bowling Green? It seems a bit late for them, I assume initial acceptances will go out next week if they haven't already.

No, I haven't heard anything. I am hoping to hear back from most places around early February, but we will see!

Just heard back that I was waitlisted to UNCC. Congratulations to those that got in. That is my top choice program, so I am hoping for the best.

I still haven't heard back from UNCC, so I am assuming a rejection at this point.

Interesting, NCSU scheduled their virtual events on the 11th and the 12th too.

And just like that... Waitlisted.  My POIs said, at least for them, it is highly unlikely they will have the funds to take a student. Bummed, but I was warned by my POI it would be this way.

Have you been contacted by a student to get more information on the interview days yet?  I heard from SH via email/Zoom and then he told me a student would contact me, but haven't heard anything since.  Look forward to seeing you that weekend if all goes well!

Sorry to hear that ? On the bright side, you still have interviews and several schools you haven't heard from! Was Rice high on your list? Also- see you at IUPUI visit day! Who's your POI for IUPUI?

It was, but you are right! Some of my top schools are still in the running/I've moved forward in the process on those schools. And that is so exciting!! We will have to DM each other so we can talk through the nerves! That will be my first interview day, so I am feeling the pressure. My POI is P.S.! :) What about you?

We must have had the same POIs... We should connect! Clearly we have the same research interest :P Did you only apply to I/O?

Hi Everyone! New here and this is my first time posting on the thread.

I was wondering what you all think about the "virtual visit days" coming up and if anyone knows what to expect. I have been invited to a virtual visit day in Feb. and this is my first application cycle, so I'm not entirely sure what a visit day, or virtual visit day, will consist of. My program also hasn't specified the timing, only the date, is it usually an all-day event? And if so, do you think it will be an all-day event considering the new virtual format? Thanks!

I spoke with the program director at the University of Akron and it looks like they are still accepting applications past the deadline. They have also waived the application fee and she said they're accepting a similar number of MA/PhD and terminal master's students as they have in the past.

Any reason for why they're still accepting applicants? That almost seems unfair for my application! >:(

These are good questions!

I know I have one virtual visit day that is 3-8 with a clear schedule. We are talking to graduate students and 3 different professors. The other one I have is listed as all day, but no schedule yet. I have no experience with these either, so I plan on being prepared with their most recent published research/their research interests, and my elevator pitches on things on my CV. ALSO make sure you are asking them questions YOU need to know to make a decision, too. They're selecting you, but they also want to recruit you so you ultimately select them.

But based on some things I have listened to or read, I imagine even an all day recruitment event will be interviews throughout the day with breaks from zoom built in. But I don't know for sure. Each school seems to be going about this process differently.

Does anyone have any tips for partner interviews? I have had really bad experiences with them in the past and I am really nervous.

Congratulations!

Normally the visit day is for you to get to know the school and program much better, and for professors and grad students to get to know you.

You will be told information about the classes required for the program, graduation requirements, funding, housing. You will get the chance to talk to the grad students and ask them questions.

Then usually you will have one on one or group discussions with the professors. They will ask you about your research and you can ask them any questions you want. It's best to do thorough research on the professors' research and CV.

And, I almost forgot, in the in-person ones, you would normally be given a tour of the campus. Don't think that will happen during the virtual visitation day :)

Has anyone heard from George Mason or DePaul? Hoping this is a big week of news for everyone ❤️

Still haven't heard from Mason- didn't apply to DePaul. I think this is going to be a big week! Hoping so, anyway! Wishing everyone good luck!

I have some questions for those of you who applied to Organizational Behavior programs... Would any of you mind DM'ing me? Mostly just about your intentions post-PhD and your preference between IO and OB. My POI from IU's OB program let me know that I'll be receiving an offer next week... which is great (actually beyond great, with this being my 2nd application cycle, I'm thrilled) but it's also my only OB program, so I have some decisions to make (I should say maybe... this could be my only offer). Thank you ?

Has anyone heard anything from Hofstra's MA program? They told me they would be getting back to people as in late December/early January, but I haven't seen any updates.

I have a friend who applied and she received an invitation for an interview recently, so I think you and others should be hearing back either last week, this week, and next week :)
