ashiepoo72 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Ok, congrats to the many UCSB admits! Now come on here and explain yourselves! Haha SunshineLolipops 1
kblooms Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I second the congratulations, Santa Barbara is such a beautiful place to live! Kinda regretting applying to schools where winter is an annual occurrence... JTE 1
Magellan1521 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 OMG! Â I just got an email from my potential advisor from Hopkins. Â I got in!!! Ritwik, Josh J., TiLeR and 5 others 8
Chiqui74 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 (edited) Congrats! All the schools I cut out at the end are notifying now. Typical. Edited January 27, 2015 by Chiqui74 SunshineLolipops, Magellan1521 and Josh J. 3
Annalistasaxo89 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I just had an interview with Columbia yesterday. Apparently they are at the final stages of making a decision for 2015.
elinen Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 That is fast! I thought Columbia didn't interview..
Magellan1521 Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Congrats Magellan!!! That's amazing Thank you!

AZMoose Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I'm the OU admit. Â Thanks :-) Â I've been out of the game a few years, and I didn't have the finances to apply to many schools (4 total). I had to really narrow them down, so it's nice to know I have at least one option. Â Now I just need to hear about funding, and sit around waiting for the other schools. Â Good luck to everyone, 'tis the season for nervously waiting. ashiepoo72, Ritwik and Magellan1521 3
IvanBezdomnii Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 Any other Russianists here still waiting to hear?  From the extensive conversations that I had with potential advisors before applying they were hoping that they could get more of their potential students in but said that we have fallen out of favour in recent years. I was wondering if anyone else who has applied to study the history of Russia (specifically pre-Soviet Russian history) has heard anything yet? Glad to see one other Russianist here. I am still waiting back to here from anywhere. I got an interview request from Penn yesterday, that was the first I heard anything. I have a friend who got accepted into Ohio State last week (I didn't apply there), but that's all I've heard so far. I applied to five other schools (Harvard, Princeton, Toronto, Georgetown, UNCCH) and haven't heard a peep from any of them yet. Any luck on your end?
Heimat Historian Posted January 27, 2015 Posted January 27, 2015 I'm terribly jealous of those of you who have heard from your programs. It's been radio silence with the exception of Penn State. I want to hear something!
dr. t Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 (edited) As I said, Die große Stille.  I am hoping for continued silence from Berkeley next week. Out of my apps, Harvard, Chicago, Toronto, and Brown should all send out on the 9-10th. Edited January 28, 2015 by telkanuru

dr. t Posted January 28, 2015 Author Posted January 28, 2015 Do you know if Harvard does interviews? Â A POI may call you, but they do not have a formal system. IvanBezdomnii 1
JustChill Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I hear Chapel Hill will be sending out decisions soon. Good luck to everyone.Â
stillalivetui Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I'm quite sure that IU will be notifying sometime next week.Â
IvanBezdomnii Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 I hear Chapel Hill will be sending out decisions soon. Good luck to everyone. They do two rounds of admits, so again, don't freak out if you don't hear back right away.
ashiepoo72 Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 stillalivetui -- is that fairly early for IU? Last year it seems most people were contacted mid-late February. I thought the following week would be fairly quiet, but it's shaping up to be eventful!
Heimat Historian Posted January 28, 2015 Posted January 28, 2015 Stillalive do you have insider info on Indiana (or was it illinois you meant)?
