I applied to Wichita State as well! I visited there in October and I absolutely loved it. Good luck!

I got an interview at Oklahoma State! I'm not sure if I should do it in person or via Skype (it's a 45 minute drive). Skype is more convenient but I'm afraid that my personality won't come through as clearly if that makes sense- 200 replies

I got an email from the University of Central Oklahoma with instructions for how to sign up for an interview. They interview every applicant so it's not that big of a deal. I haven't seen anyone on here that is from this area but I figured I'd share here in case we have anyone lurking- 200 replies

Hope: Any program. I just want to be a speech pathologist! Guesses: Probably Central Oklahoma. I was accepted into the Senior Practicum Program, and rumor has it everyone who is selected for that gets into the graduate program. I would be ok with it since I love the staff, but I'm ready for a change.

My applications are complete and my professors finally submitted their letters of recommendation! It's becoming real! Now all I have to do is sit around and anxiously watch for the rejections responses to come in.

When is it appropriate to send professors an email and remind them about letters of recommendation? I asked them in person and sent email requests on November 1, but I'm still waiting on two professors to submit their letters. I know we just had a long break and the holidays make things hectic, but I have 3 applications due on the 15th and I'm starting to panic.

3.4 checking in :/ My GRE is a 156V/157Q so I'm hoping that + my last 60 hours GPA will be enough to make up for my less than stellar cumulative GPA. I will also have a year of clinic experience by the time I graduate, which will hopefully help things. I would email the schools you are interested in and ask them how they rank your application. Some schools only look at cumulative GPA, while others look at your CSD GPA first. Good luck!

More competitive for grad school?
K8eCastle replied to kate775's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
I don't think that the admissions boards will look at how long it took you to finish your degree. I could be wrong, but I haven't heard anything about that being a factor in the application process. -
They're not all the same. Each program has different opportunities for research, different clinics, and different professors. Do some more research and find a program that specializes in an area that you are interested.

That must have been it. She told me "CSDCAS opens on the 2nd but don't bother with that yet." I'll probably open an account anyway

Hello everyone! I am going to be a senior applying for Fall 2017! I'm extremely nervous, but I took my GRE today and am pretty happy with my score which helps me relax a little. I'm applying to University of Central Oklahoma, University of Oklahoma Health Science Center, Wichita State University, Michigan State University, Ohio State University (Maybe), University of Iowa (Maybe), Missouri State University, University of Arkansas, Oklahoma State University (Maybe) Quick question: Have you all opened CSDCAS accounts yet? I was going to this week, but the academic advisor at a school I visited told me not to for some reason.

I'm applying to schools in Oklahoma because I'm afraid of this happening to me! I would love to leave OK, but I'm applying to a few schools here just in case I don't get in to my out of state choices.

Thank you for your response! I emailed several schools that I am interested in about a month ago and have only heard back from one so far. It's a little discouraging, but like other people have said, I'm sure they get hundreds of emails and don't have time to answer all of them.
