I don't know if they've finished but the recently sent out a mass interviewee activities document and are going to confirm housing on the 5th. So if they haven't finished they might be close.

I think people check because if you take the EPPP you'll need to be familiar with multiple subsections to pass so consider the psych GRE its less reliable little brother!

Its always good to message the department first (like the coordinator or secretary) to see if all invites have gone out. If they don't know then MAYBE email your POI. If you have another offer and its on the same day email stating that and that you would really like to keep that day free for your top choice. I would wait till tomorrow afternoon or Monday though.

True, they may not have all gone out but this process has blackened my heart too much to hold onto hope XD If i'm not in the first wave of notifications then I cross it off the list! ETA: the interview days are coming up fast I think. I know one is on the 10th and maybe 2 others that week?

My friend heard from Rutgers a few days ago (not sure if it was a mass email) so they could have gone out already.

Sounds fine to me. I'm aiming for a similar outfit. I feel your pain. I'm an introvert as well and these things make me feel tired as well but remember: you know what you know better than anyone Speak on that. And what you don't know its fine to admit you don't as long as you phrase it as a future learning opportunity (even in social situations).

If sleeveless I say wear the blazer. If sleeved you don't need to. But the rest of your outfit sounds fine (as long as the dress is modest in length and not mesh/sheer/leather XD)

UMass Boston committee met yesterday so shortlist invites are going out

Not sure. It was an attached letter to an email from the Operations administrator. Had my name but rest looked like a generic template. So I'm not certain if it was a mass email of if its being sent out as POIs finalize who'd the like to invite.

I'm curious about this as well (didn't apply but plan to do so in the future).

Just wanted to clarify point 3. A lot of schools do pre-interviews because they need to have long-lists of applicants pulled from the total amount of apps for their lab (ie 250 people apply for 1 to 2 spots in a lab so a POI selects 12 for their longlist that they like). Then do pre-interviews of the long list because usually there are only so many people that they can bring to campus and the pre-interview helps them get an initial feel of who to select from that list (so invite 5 fro the 12 to make their 'shortlist'). I know many competitive programs like UConn, chapel hill, penn, UMB and many others who do this. For others it really could be that if you contact a POI then they'll make special accommodations but its not a guarantee of late, its looking like standard procedure due to the large mount of apps these schools receive. That being said. Yeah contacting prior to application season with well-thought of questions can really work in your favor depending on your POI (and increase your chance of getting to the pre-interview stage).

From previous threads, Harvards process is not very coherent at all and there are no formal interview days so POI can contact and invite at their own discretion (someone correct me if i'm mistaken). Though based on past years it looks like if you don't hear back by the 1st/2nd week of February then its unlikely you will :/

I only contacted one POI so I don't think that was the defining factor that helped my application. If there was only one matching POI I only listed 1 (didn't want to 'stretch' my interests and look unfocused or desparate) but if there was more than one then I listed as many as I wanted. Without knowing all your stats (gre, gpa) and what schools you applied to its hard to say (also there are many factors out of your control that come into play) but your other experiences look great so that leads to the million dollar question. How strong was your fit with your POIs, your SOP, and LORs? For the interviews I did get those were the factors POIs definitely spoke about.

Weirdly enough I've seen invites and rejections for Duke but my status hasn't changed which may mean waitlisted or my app got lost to the nebulous void. If you don't mind when did you hear from Penn state? Edited: NVM saw your reply

If anyone's waiting on a Fordham invite I called the office and they confirmed that all first wave invites went out yesterday and only if someone declines will you receive an invite going forward. C'est la vie...

I haven't heard/seen anything from WashU. And yeah UNC - CH (if that's the one you're talking about) has completed their shortlist and sent out interview invitations. Best of luck on the rest!
