  1. Is anyone interested in mutual assistance with their applications to universities for masters and phd? I'm thinking reviewing each other's statement of purpose, offering suggestions, reviewing applications and answers to their questions, etc. Tips on studying for the GRE, etc? All free mutual assistance. I am applying to a masters degree at an ivy league school. We can use this forum or other platforms. Hope to hear from people.
  2. I'm planning on writing my GRE for the third time mid-December 2018. I need super scores as Harvard allows a maximum of 3 attempts to enter their program and this will be my third. I'm told they are mostly looking for high scores in the Analytical Writing and Verbal Reasoning portions. But I also want to do well in the Analytical. Any suggestions on books, ebooks, websites, apps for Android, other resources, strategies? Cheers.
  3. I applied to a masters at HGSE. How do I find out if accepted? The decisions were to be made by Feb. 5 I believe.
  4. 1. Does anyone have a good resume exemplar to include in an application to a masters program in education at Harvard University? 2. Would a passport or any other style photo be appropriate for a resume in an application to Harvard? Thanks.
  5. Is this thread dead? I'm applying to HGSE TIE for 2018/19. Any successful applicants want to share what they feel was successful about their SOP? Any tips/suggestions?
  6. I am interested too. How and where do we connect for this?
  7. Hi Guys. My second time applying to HGSE Masters program. Does anyone have a good cv format to use? I'm thinking I shouldn't use my 'colourful' one I use when applying to teacher vacancies. I think it needs to be more professional. Also, would having my photo on my cv be politically incorrect? I've heard from some quarters it is. Cheers.
  8. Hello all. I applied to the HGSE TIE program last year but was not accepted. Here are my GRE grades. Which do you think I need to improve on and can anyone recommend how and which materials, preferably free, to use to prepare for my final GRE exam Dec. 22. Verbal 157 %75 Quantitative 147 %27 Analytical 4 %59 Cheers.
  9. This will be my second time applying to Harvard TIE. I need to revise my SOP and increase my GRE scores. Anyone in the same position of applying to this program for the first time and want to compare notes, bounce ideas of each other, share resources, etc?
  10. I've been out of university for some time so would like to take a course to have a professor then write a reference for me for my application to Harvard GSE.
  11. 1. Anyone have the rankings of the Graduate Schools of Education at the Ivy League Schools? 2. Anyone know if any of them offer graduate courses in education online? Cheers.
  12. Yes, number if IEP acceptances is strange, what about the other programs. No hearing much.
  13. Not accepted. Discouraging after working on application for so long. But congratulations to those who were accepted. I don't know about you others who were not accepted but I plan to try again. I understand everyone can make 3 attempts. So, here are my questions straight off: 1. But as a first question does anyone know if there is still a chance of being offered a place if those accepted have to turn down the offer of acceptance? 2. Is there a way to find out why one was not accepted? Was my GRE too low? Were my recommendations not strong enough? Was my Statement of Purpose not clear and succinct? Does anyone have any suggestions?
  14. I'm applying for financial aid from Harvard for a Harvard masters degree. Do they expect students to use up all their savings before they receive any assistance from Harvard? Are they expecting students to graduate penniless?
  15. Thanks Vulpix. So now I'm playing the waiting game. But I'm also thinking of things I can do to increase my chances of acceptance the next time around if I don't get in. There are organizations I have always wanted to get involved with that I could put in the extracurricular part of the application. Thought my starting dates which would be now might look suspiciously like I did it just for my HGSE application. I think I'll still do it, as I am interested in them. If I don't get in I will also immediately start to study to get better GRE scores though I don't think the ones I submitted were too bad, especially since I only studied for 2 days and haven't look at math since the late 80s!
