I’m gonna be honest. It’s kind of frustrating to see people talk about “only” receiving one acceptance, when it’s my second round of practically getting shut out. I would appreciate any acceptance or interview that dropped into my inbox but idk...maybe it’s all about perspective and circumstances. But it’s frustrating to see and I’m 100% sure it’s all tied into my own shortcomings but yea...it almost always comes off as a humble brag haha

Ugh, I feel your pain. It got so unbearable toward the end, getting my last rejection was more of a relief than it was a disappointment over not getting into any programs this year.
Hang in there! There really is and end coming. Mine wasn't what I wanted, but it's all good still ?

This is possibly the most transparent I've seen a program be. It literally means exactly what it said. Straight, no chaser. No promises. So basically you and everyone else is still in the waiting process. Just sit tight, at least it's not a "We regret to inform you...".
Hopefully you receive a "We're happy to _____" soon!!

Can anyone share waitlist success stories to encourage others through the waitlist process? There are some similar old threads that have been encouraging to me in the past, and I would like to revitalize the conversation. Did you or anyone you know come out on top against all odds or start the season off only being waitlisted?

Oh my God...waiting for the two schools I've been waitlisted at is killing me. I was told offers went out but no one's even posted about either schools on the Results page. I can't tell if that means a lot of people are rejecting them or if the people accepted are waaaaay too confident to be sitting on GradCafe lmao (not a jab at us...more to them. lol). I'm praying the funded program offers an interview. PRAYING.

I'm the same. Don't worry. It's hard to keep yourself in check. I'm literally waiting for my dream school to get back to me (not waitlisted, just after the interview)

I’m not gonna lie...I’d be a nervous wreck as well. It’s easy to tell you to relax from the other side of a laptop screen but we all know that helps with nothing haha. Maybe she/he has a different POI or area of focus (which is my best guess), maybe it HAS come down between you and another interviewee, or maybe they’re slowly reviewing everyone one-by-one in between being professors/researchers by day. It could be anything but it may not be as negative as you’re perceiving it (hopefully!). Best of luck!!!

Or they were super busy, maybe did not see the need to reply (unless you asked a question), etc. I know the waiting game is horrible, but just I don't know.. try to distract yourself. I'm also horrible at this.

Last year the wait drove me crazy because I was in the dark. This year it’s driving me crazy because I’m waitlisted and could possibly have a chance, possibly not. I think about it at every down time of my job (so basically once lol) and it drives me crazy the second I’m off bc all I have time for is to think about it.

Eh, being waitlisted is MUCH better than a flat out ‘no’...unless we applied to the same program. Then this is horrible and you should definitely consider withdrawing your application because that’s so disrespectful.

This. I'd feel a strange mix of hope and trepidation when hearing the notification sound, and then find it was some restaurant I went to once 2 years ago that was telling me about some promotions they have going on! And then I remembered you can change individual email account notification tunes in the Inbox app.

I can't even normally open my e-mail anymore. That and whenever my phone indicates I got an e-mail I go in partly panic mode and it turns out to be random garbage from LinkedIn or H&M or something.
