  1. I got an email saying there was an update on my application status!
  2. It really seems like schools are sending out decisions early this year!
  3. Yes I did!!!!! I applied just before the deadline, too!! Keep me in the loop!
  4. JUST GOT INTO UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO WITH A 15K SCHOLARSHIP!!
  5. Hi PeaceLoveSowk! Good for you for being so proactive. Yeah, MSWs are generally more forgiving. They want to see that you have a realistic view of the profession and have expressed interest through work experiences. I agree with louise86 -- I am from California and MSWs there are harder to get into, especially if they're public MSWs, because of the huge population. I applied to University of Denver last month and got in this past week, with $17,000 total in scholarships. My cumulative GPA is a 3.19, but I had over 2400 hours of relevant social service experience and a good essay. USC is expensive and the program doesn't have that great of a reputation among my peers in California. I personally wouldn't go there, but that's just my unsolicited opinion!
  6. I applied advanced standing. Mine was submitted 1/16 and I was accepted two days ago.
  7. Just got my acceptance from UDenver! With a $16,000 scholarship, plus an additional $1000 Advocates for Social Justice Scholarship!!!
  8. Yikes, sounds like they dispatch people to call incomplete applications. I'm not special!
  9. Did anyone else get a phone call from Washington University in St. Louis before they finished submitting the application? I did. I've had schools in the past call me after I'd been accepted, but never before I'd even submitted the application. My advisor thinks it's a good sign, but poking around this forum someone said they get a very "sales" vibe to WUSTL admissions, and I could see how that could be the case.
