  1. Thank you both! That's what I was thinking, but I just wanted a little confirmation from others. It's a game and everyone is playing it just to try and find the best fit for them, I understand. Good luck to you both!!
  2. That's awesome!!! Congrats! I was so stressed out this past year about getting in, I truly didn't think it was going to happen. I am honestly so happy to have gotten into one and be on waitlists, because I did not expect that to happen! You have to trust that if you didn't get in somewhere, it wasn't meant to be for whatever reason and there is a better time or place whatever the situation may be.
  3. Hello! So I have seen others post about this in the past, but I'm still a little fuzzy on the topic. You can see the schools I applied to in my signature, I was accepted to one and waitlisted to 4. I can accept the offer while still waiting on the waitlists until after April 15th. If I get into one of my waitlist options and decide to change I can withdraw from the one I was accepted to? I know if that happens I would lose a deposit, but that's alright. Is the information I have correct? Am I missing anything? Also good luck to everyone on the waitlists!
  4. Unfortunately that wasn't me, but it is definitely one of my top ones now (I will have to weigh the price factor) but it's very close to my family and I love the program! I'm hoping for good news for you too! The waiting is awful.
  5. They emailed me just before noon PST, it doesn't say high on the waitlist so I guess not. I'm hoping for the best though
  6. I got waitlisted so I guess I can’t be too unhappy ? stats are in signature! Good luck everyone!
  7. I’m taking the neuro for human communication course (PCSD 455), and there’s only a final at the end of the semester with quizzes each module. You don’t need a proctor, you take them on your computer wherever, but you have to use a lockdown browser during it. But it’s been very manageable, a set of things are due every other week so you can do work when you get the chance.
  8. I’m taking one at longwood too, I would recommend it
  9. I’m taking a class at longwood right now for the same reason, it works out perfectly for me ☺️
  10. No absolutely, it's not as easy as you would think to be able to find out these answers! For me, because I was a paranoid mess so I probably did overkill, but I went on ASHA Ed find and the schools website also usually says the average stats for the admitted students the past years so you can kind of gage where you're at, if it doesn't then don't hesitate to contact them and ask. I also looked at the results page on here to find stats on who was accepted, waitlisted, and denied (the little red diamonds that you can hover over). I tried to look for programs that had a lower pool of applicants or waitlisted a lot of people because I had a feeling that would be my best bet. Obviously it's not limited to your stats, take the time to curate each personal statement to the school by mentioning the professors you'd like to work with and the specific aspects of the program that make you a good fit. I hope this helps! One of the reasons I love this profession so much is because I have loved how everyone tries to help each other, it's competitive, but I like to think you have many hidden cheerleaders.
  11. There's always a chance! I looked on the UNC FAQ page and it said that 30% of the students on their waitlist get off of it. Obviously it depends on the school and the year and everything, but have hope! I am trying to
  12. I didn't do too great my first year and that pulled my overall gpa down when it was time to apply. I looked for programs that had accepted lower gpa applicants and some that also looked primarily at your last 60 units, which I had a higher gpa in. As long as you do your research and have many slp related experiences to write about in your personal statement and talk about if there are interviews, then it can happen! I just got my first acceptance after a bunch of rejections and waitlists (see signature) and it was so much more exciting then getting into undergrad. You can do it!
  13. I haven't heard from NAU either. I'm sure the notifications are coming, it's the worst waiting! And no matter what happens, it will all work itself out.
  14. I am! It makes me think it's not great news
  15. I personally loved Boulder as a town, it is a lot of people packed into a little space, but it is incredibly beautiful. There is nothing like having the mountains so close like that. But yes, it is also incredibly expensive depending on your living situation and spending habits. I grew up in southern California, so it was not as much of a shock for me, and similarly for others so there are a lot of people from California that move to Boulder. It is a very eco-friendly hippie kind of place because of the magnificent nature there, but that is who I am as well so I personally loved it. I lived off campus, but still extremely close to the campus in Boulder. You could commute, but the parking in Boulder is pretty difficult at times, so if you don't get a parking permit you have to find a good routine. There are buses that go all over as well that are pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it, I had a free bus pass as an undergrad student, so I used those frequently. I have a car, but you could get around without one as well by using the bus, a bike, walking, etc. I loved Boulder, but did grow tired of it over the three years, but it will always hold a special place in my heart. Of course! If you have more, I would love to share.
  16. I did my undergrad here if anyone has any specific questions!
  17. I had mine on the 19th, I think they did all of their interviews that week and some the week after. Do they interview all their potentials?
  18. It was definitely frustrating because I was born in California and grew up there, hadn't lived anywhere else until I went to college. But because I went out of state for undergrad, it changed things in terms of being an obvious resident I suppose.
  19. This is me!! You’re not alone, I just hope I answered what they were looking for without sounding rushed.
  20. I had to send in multiple sets of forms to SDSU and one to SJSU! I had to send all of my transcripts all the way back to kindergarten after being told the previous set of forms was not enough to prove it!
  21. I’m taking one online at longwood university right now!
  22. Don't lose hope! I definitely agree with the parent support, I had the same problem. Even if you feel that maybe your schools were out of reach, you never know! There's no perfect equation that gets you into schools. Also, you had two interviews! That says something!
  23. Thank you!!!! I have a feeling good news is coming for you!
  24. I'm from so cal! I applied to 12 schools, I applied to 5 in state and the rest out of state. I went to my undergrad at CU Boulder, so a lot of the so cal grad programs have way more pre-reqs that I would have to take so I didn't apply to all the ones I intended to originally. I would prefer to move back, but I have had to prove my residency several times for tuition purposes which was a hassle. If anyone has any questions about schools, I might be able to help!
