I'm glad this thread got bumped because I was getting sad about this stuff all over again lol. The time around Valentine's is rough.

I would say that if the programs themselves are about equal, then I would make a decision based on where you think your quality of life would be higher.

Fall 2019 Psychology - Where are you going?!
ResilientDreams replied to dancedementia's topic in Psychology Forum
That's for acceptances. This is for sharing which one we picked to go to! -
This is really old information, but my dad went to graduate school at Princeton and he told me he joined the cycling team which was mostly undergrads, but he was welcomed. He lived in the Graduate College and had a meal plan. From what you described it seems things are the same there as they were then, so I would choose Princeton! Sorry I don't have anything very recent to add haha.

My patience for the classwork for the elective class I'm taking this semester is running thin...I just do not have the energy reserve to devote to it with so much else going on.

I asked my professor for help with my data analysis and it turns out I actually have really cool results for my honors thesis!!

He means he doesn't tell people whether he thinks he would advocate for their admission until he's seen their full application. This was a very neutral email. -
Thanks guys. I'm realizing that it really isn't all that far and I'm sure I would be able to work something out. Thank you for all the replies. ❤️

It would be about a six hour drive, so just at the cusp where going back for a normal weekend doesn't seem feasible.

Hi GradCafe! So I'm really close with my parents, sibling, and cousins, and as someone without a partner they form one of my most important support networks. It would be really important for me to be able to see them. I just had a really good interview experience at a school that's further away from home, and I'm trying to seriously think about what living out here/so far away would be like if they make me an offer. Has anyone been in a similar situation? How did you deal with homesickness? And were you able to take time off to go back to see your family? If so, how much?

How is everyone doing in this thread? I have a quiz in a class tomorrow but all I can think about is my upcoming interview. -
Whoa. I definitely did not do that....I feel like you'll be fine.

This made me feel so much better.

Yoga's the best! I find any kind of exercise to be extremely helpful. I personally like dance, and I've also started doing barre, which is a combination of ballet, pilates, and yoga (so all the things I love).
