  1. I agree with Psychological Yam overall. Esp about the minnesota programs. IUPUI is a great MS program and has one of the best track records in terms of student funding but they do have a diversity science lens. If you have questions about their program feel free to dm me. ☺️

I just wanted to offer my thoughts. If you do find a single landlord (i.e. local renting one home) it can be good, but this are only found by luck. If you want to k ow about any local landlord's or rental cos feel free to message me. I've dealt with many, and most I haven't my friends have haha. I can also recommend a few places if you send me what you're looking for!

Just a warning (lived in btown for 7 yrs), finding a house to rent is very difficult. Especially since most of the rental companies Hocking them are absolute scum. I honestly recommend a townhouse or apartment. Most semi affordable homes ($800-1500) in town are absolute slums. Think years of only ever being student rentals and no updates. The landlord's here are terrible. That said, if you do look stay away from Parker management, Pendragon management, and costley & co. While other companies are also bad, these are the worst. They will rent you a bedbug or cockroach infested
  4. Anyone heard from George Mason about their Masters program? I checked my gradportal and got an acceptance letter but no one has actually contacted me yet.
  5. Hey Y'all So I've now gotten accepted into 2 programs, have an interview for another and am waiting to hear from the last. Accepted: IUPUI M.S. in I/O psychology and University of Minnesota Duluth MA in I/O Interview: MSU Mankato Waiting: George Mason (one of my tops) So, my question is - do any of you have any opinions on the quality/ranking of IUPUI or either of the Minnesota schools. There is really just that one student perceptions ranking study out there and I was hoping to get insights from others who have been looking at different programs.
  6. Looks like you have a solid shot. However, I wouldn't hang so much on that perfect SAT score. Graduate programs will not care about that. It mattered for undergrad, but don't get caught up clinging to that achievement. Instead, focus on your great GRE scores. I wouldn't even mention the SAT to grad programs as it might indicate immaturity since most college graduates don't talk about SAT scores.
  7. So I had my interview and it went really well! I was invited to their program visit day in March. They didn't say it meant I was accepted, but at least part of the last pool of applicants! Anyone else hear back from IUPUI or other I/O masters programs?
  8. Hey Y'all, Wanted to say so far I have only heard back from IUPUI's MS Program However, they did email saying I was on a short-list of applicants and I have a phone interview tomorrow. The interview is with two POI's. Is this a likely sign of acceptance?
  9. I so feel this! I started apps the minute they opened and I would have them all in if it weren't for the SOP stress. I have one that is limited to 650 words and UCK. If you ever want to trade SOPs and give each other advice, I'd be happy to!

Hey there! Thought I'd offer my opinion as someone who has lived in Bloomington for around 6-7 years now. It is a great town and there are SO many fun things to do. As a student, campus offers a lot but if I'm being honest the local culture is way cooler. Some great yearly events: Lotus Festival - Huge international/world culture music festival put on every September. Can catch some amazing acts. Taste of Bloominton - Summer fest where all our (awesome) restaurants create small bit menus to serve food-truck style & live music Midwest Distillers Fest - yearly
  11. Oh gosh, thank you! I really appreciate it - just a good test taker I suppose! Do you think my Quant scores are still decent (157 seems iffy). I currently just to ensure I truly want to do a full PhD
  12. I appreciate the input! I'm just uncertain that I do want to go to the PhD level. Currently MInnesota Duluth is my top Masters choice because they fund most students (at least partially) and they prep you to go onto PhD if you like. I think I'm just not 100% so Masters makes sense first!
  13. I'm applying for Masters level, But still would love opinions! Currently applying to Master level programs since I don't have any I/O program at my undergrad Uni. STATS: GRE: 168 V; 157 Q; 6.0 W GPA: 3.78 Research XP: Worked as UTA in 2 labs (Perception research for 1 semester, Cognitive Dev. lab for 2 years), have worked as lab manager for a NIH funded Autism neuroimaging research lab for 2 years (current gig), no publishings but completed undergraduate capstone research - presented to lab, currently in midst of an Attention research project.
