@JustPoesieAlong, I wish I could program my phone to light up and play the Who Wants To Be A Millionaire dramatic hot-seat sound when I get an e-mail from a school I applied to...

Even better if you could program your phone to light up and play Slumdog Millionaire.  Then you can get up and do the Bollywood mojo.  Hehe.

So my dad just texted me that an important-looking envelope came for me. It turned out to be from the bank :( but there was enough time between texts that I got really excited XP

@FreakyFoucault The shellack was shellacked today!

I definitely got Apple-battery shellacked for a while there, but I suppose the Almighty Shellack took pity on my poor soul!

You would've loved my freshman-year roommate (now one of my best friends). His Bollywood mojo was famous on campus.

Shellalegaled by a call from NJ that didn’t look like spam. I called back, and it said something about a no-call list. Googled the number alone and the number with Rutgers, and nothing came up. Boo!

Got a call this morning that I thought might be a school, and it turned out I have moved forward in the application process with a job I applied for and have a panel interview Wednesday. Positive shellacked?

Yay! That’s pretty good news!

Semi-shellacked: email from Stanford at 4pm, subject line “Application Decision.” My stomach drops and I open it, only to be informed that decisions have been made but won’t be posted until tonight at 5:30. Oy. Wish they would have posted it and then emailed.

Best guess: enough time to simultaneously arrange a support group and party group to have on standby. Bonus points if they're the same people.

I'm surprised at how little I care. The fit was a stretch and I'm not totally sure why I applied, tbh. I'm mostly angry it was such an expensive app! Partial refund for rejectees???

I feel similarly! When I was applying I was like “hmm, should I actually submit this?” but my recommenders has sent in letters already and I bit the bullet. I’m more frustrated that I just don’t know about the other schools yet.

Lordddddd, I feel this way and more about one of my apps. A person who shall not be named (from a university that will also not be identified) sent me a passive aggressive email right after I submitted my app. Vague short version of the story: Person forgot to email me and then was upset when I submitted my app without his input. Immediate buyers remorse.

Say what?! That's ridiculous. Sorry you had to deal with that.

You should teach a self-help class on level that restraint.

Also sending good icecream vibes your way.
