Hey! Did you take the econ requirement exam??

Oh no sorry I realize that was vague, that’s just based off coursework as I took Econ and Stats in UG.

I was advised in my interview to study on my own to prep/refresh for non intro courses but they didn’t mentioned  anything about the exam itself.

Spoke to the administrator about financial aid today. She said there’s a financial aid reconsideration request form that will be released soon.

She also commended me for asking and said that many people don’t take the time to do so. Nothing is guaranteed, of course, but it seems they will try to match my other offer if I fill out the request and funding allows.

Similar to my experience, I wrote back to decline my offer of admission since Georgetown ends up being cheaper, and received back:

Before you decline your offer of admission, however, I’d like to inform you of several opportunities available to you:

·         You are able to request a financial aid reconsideration for an increase in your award. I’ve copied my colleagues in the SAIS financial aid office on this email; please feel free to summarize your concerns in an email to saisfinaidinfo@jhu.edu . In the coming days you will be provided with instructions on how to submit a formal reconsideration request via your online application.

·         You can be put in touch with our academic affairs department to learn more about ways optimize your time enrolled at SAIS and so that you may enter the workforce as soon as possible. Additionally, our admissions department has added a virtual information session to discuss these issues on March 26 at 2PM EST. You may register for this session here; if you’re unable to attend a recording will be provided to you.

Do you know if this is for merit or need-based financial aid?

Either. You would explain your situation in the form. Most need-based financial aid is loans though.

Thanks! I e-mailed them to follow up, got scholarships to 2 other DC programs and I'm hoping to leverage that... This feels like senior year of high school all over again!

Hello,

First post here: was anyone planning to attend Open House on April 1st? Are they still holding it? Anyone know? Thanks!

Good luck to all still waiting on other decisions!

SAIS emailed: Admitted Student Day will be entirely virtual - no on site programming. It’s a real bummer tbh.

Hey guys!

I'm actually a bit confused about the curriculum..

So I understand that people are not able to change concentrations to IDEV. But isn't the MA curriculum required to pursue two concentrations?

If for example, I was accepted as an IPE concentration and decide to use IDEV as my second concentration, is that not possible??

Ill email them right now! thanks for your help.

Btw did you receive an email that there is going to be a financial aid reconsideration forn??

I did, but it was sent to me directly from my program's director, since I had already said I was going to be declining the admission offer. It wasn't a general e-mail blast
