blancacastillo Posted January 20, 2020 Share Posted January 20, 2020 I have taken the terrible decision of only applying to two major universities - not out of presumption, rather because there were not other programs which reflected my interests as much - and now I'm regretting it big time, as I fear both will turn me down. Volodine1 Posted January 22, 2020 Share Posted January 22, 2020 do programs usually send out all of their interview invites in one batch? or do they sometimes do two waves of invites and/or acceptances? if we see that a bunch of people have been invited for interviews at one program, does that tend to me the program has finished reviewing and those who did not receive an invitation are out of the running at that point? I think it depends on the program. I know UPenn's Comp. Lit. program did two rounds last year but I think most have like one big round of interviews? Fingers crossed for your interview! The consensus is that Yale CPLT interviews all eventual admits, correct? And that invites to interview typically go out within a few days of one another? Agreed...Had my Duke interview yesterday and it was definitely something like an exam...penetrating and scholarly questions, not just "getting to know you better" or clarifications of application materials.
