I totally feel you on this one and all your anxious thoughts are totally valid. Recently I try to distract myself by picking up some old hobbies and looking for more counselling related volunteer jobs. Waiting is indeed tortuous and there's nothing we can do to make it finish faster. I hope you can find ways to deal with it and finger crossed for your results.

I’ve seen 3 people accepted to OISE MEd Counselling Psychology (Psychotherapy) - but they were through posts on the forum - not the admissions results.

@simp4gradschool Thank you and hope all the best on our applications!

@Happiness is key Agreed. Only 1 of 3 accepted students posted on the admission result.

oh oh ok. I only checked the result page. In this case I think @MSW2020lm is quite right about it. Let's wait for another week.

Hi everyone, I was also waitlisted today for the MEd in Counselling Psychology at UofT. SGS sent me an email that said decision reached and they had me log into my SGS account to read the decision.

Congratulations!! What time were you waitlisted? Also - did they tell you your spot on the waitlist?

Congrats to everyone that has gotten in!

I applied to a 2nd and 3rd choice program at U of T and got in to both, but still haven’t heard from the Med in Counselling and Psychotherapy (which is my first choice). People who have heard back from this program- did you apply for multiple programs? I’m wondering if they will still inform me of the decision for my first choice program, or if the acceptance to my second choice means I didn’t get accepted to Counselling

thanks!

congrats to those who got in or waitlisted. I just logged into SGS and it still says under review

My hopes were raised for a minute there before I checked my email, but mine is also still under review. Not sure what this means, but I really just want some sort of update. I have several decisions resting on whether I get in or not and I thought I would know by now.

Arggg!! still crossing fingers for everyone and checking here hoping for good news for you. Just wanted to let you know that with my acceptance my ACORN still has not changed if that spares you checking there. Also I emailed the department after my offer with a question related to the offer and to this day they have not replied its been over 2 weeks only got an automated response that they are experiencing high volume of emails- so maybe they are really overwhelmed!! good luck everyone.

I'm sure OISE will still inform you about their decision soon like the rest of us. :) It really sounds like they're swamped so that's why it's taking time for all of us to hear.

I feel the same! The result does not matter very much to me anymore, and I just want it to end!

Quick question, if folks are getting waitlisted, is it safe to assume that all acceptances have gone out? This is my first time applying and I'm super unfamiliar with this process.

Any theories on this?? I've been told waitlisted people are notified only after acceptances have gone out!

This is killing me!! When I applied to Ryerson 5 years ago for my undergrad, I got waitlisted and never got rejected or accepted :( Does anyone know for those on the waitlist, does that eventually turn into a yes or no, or does it only change if a spot becomes available? Since people got waitlisted, I think it's safe to assume im not getting in :(

It is about luck lol! Someone I know was put on waitlist when she applied to MSW at UofT a couple of years ago and she finally got in. However, I was put on waitlist last year and never received another response afterwards, which basically equals a rejection. For a course-based program like MEd, there is not much we can do as there is no professor to connect...
