*dramatic pause* nope

I used the chat feature to message admissions again today.

They said I am at the final stages of review process and should hear back in a week and that they will let the reviewers know that I need the decision expedited because I've been accepted to other programs.

This is exactly what they said last week.

lol I'll stop bothering them and just be patient and wait.

Yeah I see we will not be notified until end of March if that. I was told I should hear back 3 weeks after my interview. If not reach out to the school. Today makes three weeks I reach out last Friday.....no response.

I just tried to contact them on chat and they're offline, only accepting messages. The last two times I left messages I got no response, so I'll wait until chat opens up again and see where my application is!  Would just like to know what to tell the other accepted school in terms of an extension. Sigh.

I feel your pain maybe the 15th I know some schools release on this day. But it’s just a theory I have no evidence.

We're definitely on the same boat. I sent them a message when they were offline last Friday -- no response. I have used it previously when online, so I'll try again tomorrow. As for your accepted schools, I don't think you'll have issues with getting an extension. I recently asked for one from CSI, and they gave me an extra 2 weeks. I would just mention that you're grateful and excited for the opportunity that they've given you, but you just need work out a few logistics before you can commit. Hope that helps!

Hey everyone! I had my interview yesterday. It was a small interview, only myself and another participant. It was very short because we were only 2 people and the interviewer. They asked several questions about why we wanted to become Social Workers, why were we applying to hunter and to talk about ourselves. The interview was very smooth and then we had the writing sample which they give you 90 min and it was the same article as the one that Gradguy11218 explained in a previous post about child welfare agencies and universities. Honestly the writing sample felt a little difficult but the interview rather simple. They said we could have a decision in the next 2 weeks. However, I believe I will end up choosing Lehman College since the deadline to accept is this Monday and after carefully reviewing the curriculum for both schools I think I ended up liking more Lehman's curriculum. I will decide this weekend.

Good luck to everybody and I hope we get some decisions before the end of the week.

glad to hear the feedback i gave was the same. I dont know how likely 2 weeks is but glad you know what program is best for you and are picking that school. Does lehman have a one year residency option.

They don't. They have a 2 year-program called Track A. But they allow you to do your field placement in the agency you're currently working as long as you have been working there for more than 9 months before applying. The field placement starts as soon as the classes start and last the 2 years. 21 hours required a week of field placement and classes are 9 hours a week (Tuesdays and Thursdays 4-9 pm & 5-9 PM).

let's see if I hear soon but Im most likely making my final decision this weekend.

okay it doesnt seem bad, other than me working 9-5pm i would make those hours. Im assuming you live uptown and are close to the school. but i say this to everyone a msw is a msw. I have coworkers who went to hunter and fordham we all end up in the same jobs.

Update -- I just used the chat feature and asked if I could get an estimate for an update. They said that my application has moved to the interview stage and that I should wait for the invitation that comes via email. The invitation should come later this week and they said it usually takes about a week after the interview to post decisions (hopefully).

I leave in Queens but I work in the Bronx and I will do my placement at my current job. That's why Lehman was my second option. Hunter is closer home but I'll be going to work everyday no matter what.

Hey everyone! A final decision was posted on my portal yesterday but I just saw it. I WAS ACCEPTED TO HUNTER. I can't believe it was so quick. I had my interview on Tuesday and they posted the decision yesterday. Now I have 3 weeks to accept or decline. I have a tough job this weekend deciding between Lehman and Hunter. Go and check your portals and see if you have gotten any decisions!.

Good luck to all!
