  1. Would you mind sending me a PM as well?
  2. I called Hunter yesterday and Brooklyn College today (the only schools I've applied to). They both said they just sent out their first set of emails for interviews. I'm worried because my undergrad GPA in speech was a 3.0. I'm currently in graduate school for Childhood Education and Special Education and teaching in an ICT 1st grade classroom. Hopefully it all works out!
  3. Some schools don't use the GPA on CSDCAS. The only real answer is you won't know until you apply. Write about it in your SOP and how you grew from that set back. At the end of the day, it's all up to the admissions committee. Good luck!
  4. Someone just said they got off the waitlist and they have until the 27th
  5. I currently attend SUNY Cortland if you have any questions about the program
  6. I'm still waiting to see if I get off the wait list at Ithaca, St. John's and Cleveland State
  7. @pdelacru Hi! My uncle is the Dean of Admissions for a college in NYC and he has given me an insight on how diversity weighs on admission decisions in SLP. Depending on your location, a diverse cohort is an important factor. The admissions committee assumes that you will pursue a career in the same state you received your certification. With that being said, places like NYC are very diverse, which in return, requires a diverse group of professionals. The ability to identify and empathize with a culture is a very important skill to have and unfortunately, some people do not have those skills. Therefore, finding people from different cultural and ethnic backgrounds who can relate to their clients and families is a deciding factor as well. Granted, it is not as important as your GRE's, SOP's and GPA, it can still help boost your application.
  8. I think a lot of decisions will be made this week and the weeks to follow. Everyone most likely had until the end of the business day on Friday to hand in their deposit, so today they will officially know how many people they will be able to offer a spot to. Don't lose hope. We'll be hearing back soon!
  9. I received a "wait list" email this morning
  10. I called Brooklyn College today and they said that they'll be doing interviews throughout April.
  11. A friend who applied to New York Medical College has an interview next week.
