  1. If you've been accepted to UNC-Chapel Hill, can you please share your stats? Also, are you in-state? Thanks!
  2. How much of a bonus do you get if the people who click on your referral link apply and get hired?
  3. This might be wishful thinking, but does YU offer any merit or need-based aid other than loans?
  4. To be fair, there are >250 programs in the states and all of 7 (I believe) programs in English in Canada.
  5. @wcslp: I agree that 90k is pretty extreme, but if you don't receive an assistantship/scholarship/etc. and have exhausted all other options, what's the alternative: switching fields?
  6. Sorry to interject, but I'm considering applying to University of Vermont next year. What about the program stands out to you guys? Thanks! Also, congrats on the acceptance!
  7. Congratulations on finishing up your applications! Now to play the dreadful waiting game... As a side note, I didn't realize Bridgewater State offered an MS (only the BS is mentioned on EdFind). Do you happen to know if it's a new program?
  8. Not OP, but does U of Delaware have more of a medical or school focus, or does it seem about equal?
  9. Schools in Canada can be even more competitive. It also looks like all but one school has prereqs and/or requires the GRE. Also, some programs can't accept applicants who aren't Canadian citizens or permanent residents (Toronto and UBC come to mind).
  10. Actually, you only need a 3.0 to be accepted into the second bachelors program: https://comd.usu.edu/online-programs/comd-second/admissions The program is accredited, and many students have gone on to be admitted to grad programs (both online and in person). The only negative thing I've heard is that some California State universities (CSULA?) think USU is guilty of grade inflation, but that doesn't seem to be the consensus among all programs. So, unless you're planning on applying to some CSU schools, I don't think that should deter you.
  11. I know many people go for a second bachelors from Utah State University. The degree is entirely online and can be completed in 3 semesters (if you go full-time), and it's not terribly expensive. All classes are offered each semester, too. That said, I know some people still need to take another prerequisite or two before/during grad school (e.g., neuroanatomy), but otherwise this is a good way to deal with the prereq issue.
  12. I've compiled a list of programs with more of a medical focus. If you can think of any others, please let me know! University of Washington - MedSLP Track MGH Institute of Health Professionals Vanderbilt University Rush University University of Iowa University of Pittsburgh Case Western Reserve University Loma Linda University Thanks!
  13. As someone who already has a masters degree, I think being able to form relationships and get to know your classmates is a valid consideration. Grad school can be awfully lonely, and classmates can be a built-in support system. Should it be the only consideration and one that supersedes financial and other "pragmatic" concerns? No, of course not. But it's something that many people at least think about. Maybe it's less of a factor for someone who's already settled down with a family, though?
  14. To my knowledge, emailing someone from your school of choice often yields more accurate and precise information. On a related note, does anyone know when EdFind will update its information (stats and such) to reflect the fall 2016 semester?
  15. I don't think I would get my master's degree at a for-profit school.
  16. ASHA has a mutual recognition agreement with RCSLT. Out of curiosity, why study in the UK? Wouldn't it be insanely expensive, especially in London?
  17. Not OP, but how long should someone wait for it to be "okay" to switch fields (especially given how many SLP students come to grad school with unrelated degrees/leveling courses)?
