  1. I read someone saying it took them 6 weeks! I hope that's not the norm.
  2. Your scores are great for SLP programs. I don't think you should be worried at all! I wouldn't retake it. I know CA schools are competitive but as long as you meet their cut offs, there's no need to be concerned that the GRE is what will disqualify you. Maybe check Edfind to confirm.
  3. Does Idaho State University help their online students find a clinical placement? I've read that they DON'T help find you a clinician placement but I just wanted to make sure that was accurate.
  4. I was considering but decided not to. I had A LOT of transcripts to enter too but when I heard it can a while for them to do it and if they make errors... you have to correct it. Did not seem worth the cost.
  5. If you have time to improve your verbal score, I would try to do that. It seems that most schools are looking for at least 300 combined score. Although, I have heard of some programs accepting people with a combined score of the 290s. Research and find programs that look at students holistically. I think you have a lot of great experiences to write about on your SOP that might help you stand out.
  6. At their webinar Baylor stated that a clinical placement advisor helps with finding one within a 100 mile radius of where you live.
  7. for the essays I feel like kaplan has a good essay structure to follow: https://www.kaptest.com/study/gre/how-to-structure-the-gre-issue-essay/ https://www.kaptest.com/study/gre/how-to-structure-the-gre-argument-essay/ I would take practice tests from ETS. I've heard those are the closest you can get to the real thing.
  8. I don't have any suggestions because I've never gone through the application process. But I have heard of people being rejected multiple times from the southern California csd programs. Maybe northern california would be a better bet?I'm not entirely sure.
  9. I can't speak for him but I'm not applying to CA schools either. They are notoriously competitive and tend to accept their own undergraduates first. If you don't have a competitive GPA ...I'm not sure it's worth the money. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic...am I alone?
  10. Haha, oops! Yes, I meant December not Jan. Most of my schools use CSDCAS and I wasn't sure how long they take to process scores. I've heard it's fairly quick.
  11. Am I cutting it close by taking the GRE in the first week of January? 2 of my applications are due January 1st. The rest have due dates of Feb/March. I only want to take it once which is why I need the whole month of November to study.
  12. I would start asking now. I've already sent 8 emails requesting LORs an only two professors have responded and agreed. It might be easier to get them if you aren't a distance student. Since, you will be able to meet them in person.
  13. ENMU offers it over 8 weeks but I don't think they have an 8 week session. Easy A if you take it with Plummer.
  14. Sounds like your email got put on some sort of spam list.
  15. I'm applying to online programs, they are listed in my signature. Not sure if you can see them. Emerson | Baylor | NOVA | U of St. Augustine | U of South Carolina | NYU Steinhardt |
  16. I've heard ENMUs graduate program looks at more than just GPA.
  17. We'll see. My first GPA is crap...but my 2nd BA in COMD is much higher. I also have the same fears that my cGPA will basically disqualify me but I'm going to give it a shot anyway!
  18. This is for ALL schools listed on ed find?
  19. Does anyone know how many weeks the summer sessions are for the practicum?
  20. I would probably retake because it seems like most schools at least want you to score 150 on the verbal portion. Also, magoosh isn't helpful for me either when it comes to the quantitative portion. I plan on bombing that section. The videos just aren't helping me. So, I can totally relate to your experience with Magoosh.
  21. Yeah, if my other professors fall through... I will be calling them. It's probably a busy time of year since the semester started a few weeks ago. Thanks for the advice!
  22. A few people have given me the advice that professors at distance programs are well aware that online students will have a more difficult time connecting with them VS on campus students. They shouldn't hold it against you. I am not attending USU but I am in my last semester at ENMU online BS program. So far, I've been able to receive an LOR for 1 out of the 3 professors I've contacted. The other 2 professors who I've reached out to did not respond to my request AT ALL. It's almost been 3 weeks since I sent my initial email. My fears that being an online student would count against me in terms of being able to get LORs...have come true! Although, I do have a few more professors I will be contacting before I lose all hope. Contact every single professors you've taken courses with at USU even if it's been more than 2 years ago. Start with the professors you most recently have taken classes with and have done well in. I hope you have better luck than I have! Since, USU has been around longer than ENMU's undergrad program maybe they have a better system when it comes to LORs.
  23. Eastern New Mexico University
  24. I also had max credits. The only way I qualified was applying as a “graduate leveling student”. But as was mentioned above, I suppose it might not be worth it if you only need 1 class.
