  1. My dev program is a bit different since it's a dual degree program. but stipend is ~$36K in a high COL area. also the graduate student has a union here, so stipend goes up.
  2. I got an informal offer over the phone last week. I think they're calling folks slowly since georgetown's funding structure is guaranteeing 12 month contracts all 5 years, so they'll have to get all the financial packages together, which requires solid commitments from the students.
  3. If anyone is applying to MAPSS at UChicago, feel free to message me questions! Went there and thought it was great.
  4. sorry i meant umass amherst. Thanks though!
  5. hi all, has anyone heard from Virginia Tech on formal interview invites for clinical? THANKS!!
  6. I checked, and they said it seems like they're reaching out individually, so maybe not all invites have gone out yet? Unclear, sorry I can't be more help!
  7. they said it was on monday. not sure if it was all of them though!
  8. Not those schools specifically, but I heard from a friend that Syracuse sent out formal interviews.
  9. NYU doesn't offer funding, so I didn't really see it as a viable option
  10. that is definitely true, but the quality of placement seems to be at a lower level than the other schools.
  11. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. Thanks all.
  12. not NYU and Pepp. they didn't offer funding
  13. Hey folks, I need to make a decision on a master's program, and I was wondering if I could get some input. I have offers from MAPSS UChicago, Ball State Clinical Psych, Brandeis General Psych, American University General Psych, NYU, and Pepperdine. They've offered me similar levels of funding, so it's really a comparison of the programs that I need. Any input? I'm thinking MAPSS and Brandeis are my top 2 right now.
  14. Definitely think W&M is probably the best program overall, no argument there. I wasn't sure about MAPSS research as well but found out that all students get lab placements for the year. Psychology students start earlier than all other students in the summer so that they get more research experience/opportunity. You work on lab projects as well as a research thesis. And profs are world class so that's a plus. AND placements are just so good with nearly all students that apply getting the schools they want. And on average, each student gets around 3 offers from phd programs. They're pretty confident/cocky on placement in both phd and just jobs too. That Uchicago name.
  15. MAPSS is really great for placement - like really great. Costly program but worth the investment if you really want to get into phd.
  16. William and Mary, Wake Forest, Brandeis, American, Villanova, Depaul, NYU, Pepperdine - General UChicago - MAPSS Northwestern, Ball State - Clinical I think these are all solid - it's not important that it's clinical, just that they have research opportunities
  17. publishing first author should be the strong pull. but if you think you can get in with the lab you want at the 2nd school, not a bad idea. the 2nd place has to be worth the investment, and it could be if you can place well
  18. Agree, both are good. Personal opinion, W&M feels like the better school
  19. What schools are you waiting for? I applied to a lot, so can probs let you know
  20. William and Mary, Wake Forest, Brandeis, American, Villanova, Depaul, NYU, Pepperdine - General UChicago - MAPSS Northwestern, Ball State - Clinical I think these are all solid
  21. depends what the schools are. more research experience is always good
