you are not alone this has been my biggest fear throughout the whole process I’ve just been trying to stay positive and distract myself by focusing on other things as hard as it is. -

remember different schools send them out at different times depending on when the application was due! Stay positive we will all find our place! ? -

St Ambrose in Iowa ? -
MGH lets you write a diversity statement so I would assume they would be LGBT friendly MGH Institute of Health Professions considers having a diverse student population a key element to the educational experience of its students and the CSD department dedicates a large portion of scholarship funds to diverse candidates. Diversity presents itself in many different forms, such as: socioeconomic status, race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, nationality or place of origin, disability, unique life or work experience, etc. We invite you to share with us how you might contribute to the diversification of our institute and your program.

CSDCAS GPA
hopefulfuturespeechie replied to hopefulfuturespeechie's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
Thank you both! It was my overall GPA and was only by .04 so I don't think over all it will make much of a difference. -
So I was super excited I only just submitted my app Friday and its already verified, but then I looked at the GPA my GPA is lower on the CSDCAS than if I asked my University?!?!

I came from a similar background. I was originally a pharmacy major. My first semester I ended up getting 2.3 GPA before second grade option and 2.5 after. I have worked really hard in my classes and have done a lot better since finding CMD. I will graduate in May with a 3.4 GPA that is not super higher, but when coming from a 2.5 GPA that is huge leap. I also did a lot of shadowing and just jump on as many opportunities in the field as you can. I am applying this year with a 3.4 overall and a 3.5 major. Also a big thing I have found in the process is if you had to take Intro to Chemistry and intro to Biology most schools want at least a B in those classes so you may have to retake them.

Narrowing Down Schools
hopefulfuturespeechie replied to hopefulfuturespeechie's topic in Speech-Language Pathology Forum
thank you this is def helpful! -
How did you narrow down your schools. I went through ASHA, but there is still more schools than I can afford to apply to. I have lower stats so it got rid of some schools GPA 3.41 Major GPA 3.5, GRE 149 verbal, 144 quant, 3.5 writing (Hopefully they will be better on the 10th) any suggestions on figuring out where to apply to my letter writers want school names, but im still stuck. Thank you!

I am currently applying to grad school now and figured out I should of taken the GRE in the summer. I did take it once, but I only received a 149 verbal, 144 quant and 3.5 writing. I am trying to take it again, but with the first deadline coming January 1st I am super stressed about my scores getting there on time? The next date in my town is not until December 21st YIKES Anyone know how long it took for ETS to get scores to schools? I only have a 3.41 GPA so I need the GRE scores to be HIGH ?
