You should -- there is absolutely no shame in that. I'm about to go cry to my therapist here in a few hours. This is a really tough process.

I think people should stop insulting programs that they get rejected from, or get in to. If you get rejected and dis the school, it just comes off as desperate and immature. Even something like "accepted, waiting to hear back from better programs" come off as elitist, and can make someone feel like shit if that was their reach school. This might come off as overly sensitive, but the insecurity of grad school applicants is already sky high.

Hey there! Congrats on the offer. That's pretty average for a grad school stipend, from what I have seen.  However, grad school stipends are never much compared to what you typically need to live comfortably in a city in the US.
You should take a look at some cost of living calculators (here's an example: https://www.nerdwallet.com/cost-of-living-calculator). They'll tell you how far your stipend will go in your selected city, on average.
I would say in Maryland with 22.5k you're going to need to live with roommates and keep a tight budget, definitely, but it could be doable.

Nothingtown got a reaction from Mokikaitlyn in Did I actually turn everything in?
I'm wondering the same thing! A lot of applications have checklists though, at the end, and if you're super paranoid you can manually go through it all.
I had one school that used a system where you uploaded a doc to a box, and then selected what category the document belonged to (CV, Writing Sample, etc) from a nearby drop-down. It didn't save it properly though because after 24 hours, it was still showing that they hadn't received the CV. Emailed my contact there and they went in and manually applied the changes so that my checklist was all in the green.
And I did have one school email me to remind me that they needed a document I'd forgotten, so some of them do that, while some of them just block you from paying the fee and hitting "submit" if you don't have everything uploaded.
At this point, if you've been diligent at double and triple checking applications to make sure everything has been received, I assume it's on them if they somehow "miss" it. But given the lack of responses I'm getting from programs at this point, I'm starting to get nervous that everything school I applied to just "missed" my application. I'm sure it's just anxiety on my part but still.

Nothingtown got a reaction from nextcounterplease in Any database for potential visit dates?
I don't know if there's a database, but you may want to check out the Google doc linked in a previous thread. I've noticed some notes of visits or interviews on it. Sometimes these dates are buried deep in a department's webpage, and if all else fails, emailing someone in the department and explaining your situation should do the trick
Outside of that, all I can offer is that Baylor's invite-only finalists weekend is March 22.

9:50 AM CST acceptance to a master's program
4:22 PM CST invite to an interview for a PhD.
I have noticed heavier traffic on this site between 2-5 CST, and it would make sense that departments don't want to send emails or make calls first thing in the morning!

Nothingtown reacted to yeahsouh in Post here to get your worries off your chest
Worries: Interviewed with my top choice program about three weeks ago and thought it went very well. They indicated I'd hear back "very soon" and I am increasingly worried that the delay means bad things for me. Currently high waitlisted at my second choice program and rejected/presumed rejected everywhere else, so there's a lot riding on this and the optimism is fading.
Excitement: I still have a chance at each of my top two programs, either of which I'd be thrilled to land at. I have an unusual background and have worked like hell for the last few years to put together an application, and to be this close is something I think I will end up being proud of regardless. This is my first go-round; I've also learned a ton about what kind of programs value my background, and will have a much better program selection strategy next year if necessary.

At least this person is handling their rejection with a sense of humor. Too real.
