Twins! Congrats! It seems like they might be doing staggered emails/calls, which is interesting.

Congrats!!!

*edit to add that I'm sorry this process has been so hard on everyone. Hang in there! Do something nice for yourself today!! ❤️

Hi all. Sending solidarity to every person refreshing their emails every five minutes. I'm with you!

I have 2/4 decisions back. Both rejections from University of Oregon (Feb 15) and UBC Vancouver (Feb 16). Still waiting on the University of Washington & Montana.

I'm starting to imagine applying again in the fall if there are no offers. The part that makes me most uncomfortable about another cycle is the references. I am not in regular touch with them, and I'd hate to come knocking at their door for the third time (I also applied a few years ago). I have their letters in Interfolio. Does anyone know whether you can re-use a letter from year to year without updating it? That would be very convenient.

Yes--you can re-use the letters.

Are there any Rutgers people here? Saw on Draft that a couple people got emails about interviews for poetry! (Good luck if that's anyone here. :D) I feel like I've seen Rutgers applicants floating around here...

Just got my rejection from Michigan! Definitely feeling a bit bummed but I'm hoping it means Brown will be getting back to us soon too. Who knows! Maybe the universe doesn't want me getting my MFA in a colder climate. Keep pushing forward, y'all! If you're feeling anything similar to the levels of anxiety I've been feeling these days, I hear you and see you. We've got this!

On the U Mich rejection train too. Sad! But will definitely reapply to U Mich if this cycle doesn't workout for me.

I applied for fiction to Rutgers Camden, not sure if you mean Rutgers Newark though. My portal says "no decision," but since I've heard nothing from them, I suspect I'm sitting in their reject email dump pile; they just haven't hit the button yet. I'm still waiting to hear back from 10 schools...

Wow! That’s really exciting! I hope that means good news for you!

I only applied to the MFA, and got some sort of student code to log in to their system in January or early February, but it said nothing indicative of a welcome or acceptance. Do let me know if you hear anything else! I’m at the edge of my seat. ❤️

Alright, so not an acceptance! I reached out to Gerri Brightwell (Program Director) and she said that these emails go out when an applicant submits their application and that apparently they do cause a lot of confusion. Gerri also said that they haven't "even made our decisions about applicants yet", so hopefully that helps you breathe a little easier!

Heads up all - there's a Cornell poetry acceptance this evening in draft!!! I'm currently having a heart attack in class, if they make us wait an extra week for fiction responses I will opt out of this whole process *cries*

UT Austin gave me a f*ckin heart attack. An email came that said UT AUSTIN STUDENT NOTIFICATION. I died for a second, then clicked it. It was the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid telling me they finally processed my fafsa.

Oh dear. Cornell is kind of infamous for delivering upsetting / heart attacks at inconvenient times. *cough* 2/14/20 *cough*

So glad I didn't get that email; I'd be nursing a concussion from jumping into the ceiling.

I saw they had over 1000 applications this year. That's an incredible accomplishment in and of itself. Congrats, dear!! ❤️

Thank you so much!!! Even if I don't get off these waitlists this year, I think I feel much better prepared for the next round at least

Doesn't Cornell usually do acceptances by phone call and then waitlists/rejections by email, all within the same day? Or was that only last year? Haven't seen anything else from them yet.

Looks like a last year thing, she only got the call like an hour ago (ish) and she's the only notification I've seen. I've also heard rumors around draft that someone from the Cornell fiction board tweeted they were still reviewing apps. I wouldn't put it past them to break it up by genre.

So the wait continues!

Thanks for filling me in. ?

Anyone know what the deal is with University of Miami? On Draft and on here, I can only find acceptances historically from around Feb 19, and then rejections in early March. Trying to determine if that means waitlists go out this week and that I should assume I am not accepted. Does not seem to be a popular program from users here, so data is limited.

Have you seen any from this year? Covid may have messed their schedule up.

There is a poetry acceptance from 2/15, though I am concerned about fiction. The only result from last year is also poetry, from around the same time. In 2019, acceptances also happened on what would have been the equivalent of last week. (With rejections delivered via snail mail on the equivalent of next week - the indignity!)

There also doesn't appear to be anything on Draft for this year. Just hard to read the tea leaves on this one. Seems just as likely that they accepted people who aren't on these groups as it is that they are delayed.

I applied to fiction so I'm wondering about this as well.

Looks like a fiction acceptance (full finding) went up today as well. Hopefully we get some news in the next couple of days!
