did you end up hearing last night? i'm still waiting

No, but I applied on Jan. 15th!

I feel terrible - I definitely may have been wrong about the decisions coming late at night! So sorry! But we know at least one person got a response yesterday/early this morning, so I suppose the admission team wasn't lying about sending out decisions.

That's all I've got. Ignore me. I totally didn't mean to mislead you, aha. May we hear back soon!!

Oh no you're so fine!! Just was curious if I was the only one still waiting somehow lol

I heard back about Fordham, too! I'm not advanced standing, but mine was 3K/yearly as well.

And that's a great question, but honestly I don't think I have a good answer. NYU seems like it may have the strongest clinical program, which is an obvious draw, but I'm also really impressed by Columbia's DBT curriculum and interested in this minor https://socialwork.columbia.edu/news/launch-of-new-social-work-minor-emerging-technology-media-and-society-ems/ (is anyone familiar with it?). BUT THEY'RE SO MUCH MONEY. You truly can't beat the value of Hunter, which is also a great program. What is your #1?

Fordham is my #1. I appreciate their social justice focus and the theoretical perspective that their program teaches through. The classes also seem truly focused on policy. Also, every interaction I’ve had with the school has been quick, easy and nice.
I received my BSSW at a CUNY school (not hunter) and it sometimes was difficult to navigate the various offices to get the right answer or any answer for that matter. You kind of felt like no one cared. But, I also fully understand the respectable reputation Hunter has and the price is impeccable compared to other schools. It is the best decision economically & professionally.

Still waiting for Chicago too! Hoping maybe tomorrow but expecting closer to Friday. Just can’t get it out of my head that admissions said they’d be sending priority decisions out within a week last Monday.

Has anyone heard back from UT Austin yet? I’ve only seen one person who’s said anything about a response.

I heard back on February 2nd about a decision, and I applied November 14th. Hope you hear good news soon!

So has anyone heard from Penn? I applied on 1/25 but haven't gotten an interview request yet - do those take a long time? I sorta thought everyone who met the basic requirements got an interview!

Hi! I applied to Penn on 12/16 and got an email to schedule my interview the next day, so it's probably a good idea to contact them if you haven't heard from them yet!

Oh boy watch me straight up overthink this for the next like, month.

Thank you haha! I'll ask them about it. Maybe I don't actually meet the requirements or something.

I feel you but I wouldn’t reach out to them just yet. I applied in early January and it took about two weeks to receive my interview invitation. Just a busy time for them right now!

True! I did apply right on the deadline, so I'm sure they have alot to get through. Thanks for responding! I appreciate it!

Y'all are lovely.

Oh no, don't overthink it! I'm sure you meet the requirements and it's just taking a bit longer right now as the other poster pointed out. Best of luck!

I applied 1/25 too & still waiting so don’t stress!! I’m sure they get a lot of apps on the deadline day.

For those who got into programs already congratulations!

Because the pandemic isn’t over yet, if it continues into Fall 2021 would you end up deferring or don’t mind taking classes online?

or

If it ends this year and vaccines have rolled out. Would you take in person classes Fall 2021 let’s say at Columbia/UPenn/BC/BU/UCLA if there was no social life due to people moving out and things changing? (if the experience of the city was an important factor)

I am still going to attend. I just want to get my degree started. It's tough beacuse I would love for it to be in person to gain the full experience. I am applying to all of the schools you listed, minus BC.  I am planning to move wherever I decide to go.

What are your thoughts on attending during pandemic?

Does anyone else feel super discouraged about not hearing back anywhere yet? I know its still kind of early and I'm trying to stay optimistic, but I feel like this means I haven't gotten in anywhere.

Has anyone applied to Smith's MSW program and heard back? From past years it looks like the might only send out answers in Feb but I am dying of anticipation.

I also applied to Columbia, NYU, and UT Austin and haven't heard back yet... sending hugs to all the other ppl on here anxiously waiting!

I did get into DU very quickly after applying, so at least I'm going somewhere :) Good luck to us all!!

I heard back from Smith on Feb 4!

That's what I was thinking too! I need to tell Columbia my decision by the 16th and am waiting on UChicago to decide so I'm getting a bit stressed

Hi! I was in the exact same boat; I reached out to Columbia's admission team and asked for a 1-week extension for my decision date (I explained that I wouldn't hear back from other programs until after Feb. 16), and they were able to give me an extension! Maybe try that?
