No, the GPA is actually everything.

I've heard this too, but how does someone with a 3.9 gpa miss out then?

Nope, I plan to reapply next year.

However, I did not have a GRE score and while they say its not necessary, I don't know if having one actually helps in some way.

What is your GPA? Mine was 3.3.

I have a mere 63% :( On my defense, we were scored really frugally, the topper got a 70 :/

What are you doing rn? As in, gathering work-ex or studying further?

I work for a non profit in Mumbai, work ex.

Its not International though. I feel this whole focus on grades is unfair as its so hard to get stellar grades in India. It's also hard to gain international exposure when it's all so expensive for students from developing countries.

I really hope you get in though, it will give me hope.

Also check where the person is from, etc. Sometimes they are also looking for a diversity factor.

What is the full profile of this 3.9 scorer? Just curious.

I know, we are graded really poorly. DU grades well comparatively well, though. I am from Xavier's, Kolkata. My LoR mentions that I was among the top 10% of my class (class strength 60) but I am really doubtful as I was already deferred once.

Anyway, all the very best to you, I will be reapplying next year too if I don't make it this time round :)

It is 7 there, so either the person is updating yesterday's result or just messing around with us :P

However, just saying, top schools like LSE, Cambridge, Oxford, Manchester do not focus so much on grades. and let's face it, grades do not define the quality of students. CANNOT define at this stage :/

I dunno about the profile, but heres the comment he/she provided-

  • Not sure why my application has been rejected or many of those who applied too. It's like I am being punished for being highly intelligent. Not sure what I did wrong. Probably going to accept the RAND offer now.

true, I have a 3.3 if converted to a 4.0 scale and yet Cambridge invited me for an interview. my research interests weren't that clear so I got rejected(applied for mphil), but at least they gave me hope :)

It's past 10am and no one has posted their results yet, what is going on?

Will the results be out today? Anyone else has any information or update from the institute?

grades are an important factor but i'm starting to think that it isn't the most important;

as they said, sop cv lor must have some influence.

half past eleven now, hope they all come out today

Why do I feel we won't hear back today..?

Didn't the institute say that they will release the results later this week?

It's only mid-week of mid-March! And my 'refresh-happy' fingers are hurting and the anxiety is unbearable ?
