    Hey! I will PM you on the weekend. It just has to do with something I heard about how they unfairly select their applicants and the overall atmosphere once you get there. Again, I haven't personally experienced these from them but it's what I've heard from past applicants and students.

    To those that applied or are thinking of attending SDSU/ San Diego. Current and past students have notified me of the heartless and unsupportive attitudes of the faculty and their unjust selection process. Overall you would be better attending and applying to any other Cal school but them. Save the money and go where you are given the attention you deserve. I withdraw my application to them this Fall before it was too late. I just think this is something future and current applicants should know.

    The president of my school's NSSLHA who presented and won an award at an ASHA conference got rejected from a school because of her GPA and GRE scores. Clearly it's all in the numbers.

    @slptobe92 It is really unfortunate that grad school admissions, in general, have come to this. So many potentially amazing SLPs are getting rejected. @Jolie717 I would tell you but it would take me at least a half hour to list all of them. Finding someone on the results this round who has been accepted with a less than 3.8 GPA is definitely the needle in the haystack scenario.

    It seems that GPA and GRE scores are more of a focus this year and just from looking at the stats I see no one accepted with anything lower than a 3.8. How competitive has it become? I have a friend who applied last year who told me it wasn't this competitive last year and many from her cohort got accepted with 3.2-3.5 GPAs.

    @intotheairwaves so you didn't get a request for an interview but were still waitlisted? I thought if you didn't get an interview you were straight out rejected...

    I know, first it's the anxiety of waiting for a decision and then getting a rejection is a whole different misery itself. It's. not. fair.

    Possibly, since most if not all of the state schools I know of are having funding issues...OOS might be more in demand?

    Congrats to those who got accepted! Seems like UTD is focusing much more on the numbers this year as last year a lot of average or below average stats were accepted.

    Exactly! As for what I said earlier about the quality of experiences, it was something I was told by an applicant from last year who got into a really competitive school. I wonder if being a minority ethnicity in the field has anything to do with admissions? A lot of schools seem to value diversity.

    I think they're really looking for quality of experiences vs quantity.

    I'd like to believe that there are some schools out there who see their applicants as people and not decimals and percentiles. The truth is when you become an SLP your clients want to know how you can help them not your GRE scores and last 60 GPA. To those with lower stats, please don't give up.

    I think the ones who got invitations are at the top of the list/ above average stats wise. The rest of us should hear by next week hopefully!

    Did anyone apply to NYU or any other NYC school in general? How are you guys planning to pay for tuition, living expenses etc. once you get accepted? I know living in NYC would be amazing but I'm just worried about how I'll be able to pay for everything if I get accepted.
