  1. I mailed WUSTL and they didn't reply back. But I know that their interview weekend is the 31st of January, so this silence is weird.
  2. Did anyone hear back from WashU (WUSTL) for an interview? I've heard that the POI's individually reached out to some, but was the departmental mail sent? I'm specifically interested in the cognitive area, but any info would help. Thanks!

  5. I asked the department if all the invites were sent, and the answer I got was : Hello, Sadly we could not invite everyone we would have liked to for our visiting day as our program is small and we could only invite a small number of students this year. I wish you the best of luck with your search in finding a graduate program that suits you best. Thank you. Happy New Year! Good luck with the rest of your applications!
  6. I applied to Princeton as well. And while I don't want to be the downer, they have sent all the interview invites, so if you haven't heard anything (I didn't either), it's probably bad news ? I'm now past the denial phase and moving closer and closer to acceptance, so I'm wishing the same to you guys
  7. Good luck to everyone! Is the person who got an interview from Princeton here? If so, would you mind sharing the POI, and did you get a personal e-mail or a departmental one? Thanks
  8. Hi there! Has anyone heard back from Princeton? They should have sent the interviews around this time, but there is only one person who put in an interview to the results section, and they marked "other" as the source...
  9. Hi everyone! Has anyone heard from the New School for Social Research's General Psych master program?
  10. Thanks everyone for responding! And I wish the best of luch to everyone who is waitlisted. As a sidenote,I do think the allocation of the funding, especially in state schools, is a little quirky this year, as I have received an interview for a Phd program in a state school last week. At this point, I left my chances to the-powers-that-be, and focused on getting through this chaotic term in one piece.
  11. Hi there! I was in a desperate situation, in which I got 2 rejections out of 4 phd applications, and no interviews from the remaining two. Although I was rejected from my top choice, I just received an invitation for interview form my second choice. As weird as an invitation on the 3rd of march may sound, I just wanted you all to know that it can happen!
  12. I have applied to 4 Phd and 1 MA program in Psychology, and only heard back from the two Phd programs I applied to. Rejected from both, and they were Ivy League I am assuming rejections from the other two Phd programs (both state schools) since i haven't received any interview requests. My hopes are high for the masters program, but I need a very good scholarship to go there, as an international student, I definitely can't afford both living expenses and the tuition.
  13. Hi everyone! I was told by professors in my home university (not in US) that there has been an anticipated funding cut due to the new administration (which they heard from their friends working in US), which might reflect on the number of applicants they accept this year. Have you heard anything like this? Or is it just a gossip that spreads every year? I am specifically curious about Psychology programs, but any info would be welcome

  15. Applied to New School for Social Research, haven't heard anything yet, but I hear it's relatively early to be hearing from NSSR.
  16. Anyone interviewed/heard from SUNY Stony Brook? I couldn't find anything in the results section :/
  17. Thank you for the support! And I did mention the specific prof.
  18. First of all, this thread feels like therapy <3 I also applied to 4 Phd programs, and a master program, and received only one rejection from a Phd program as of yet. I know that I was the second choice of a professor in an Ivy League, but he had funding for one student, and that student had some publications, while I had 3 years of lab work and a summer internship in US with a very well known professor in my field, who gave me a LOR, but no publication. So I am assuming rejections from the other 2 Phd programs, and will see about the tuition waiver of the masters program (which is not very likely, honestly) There are two things that's bothering me so so much; if my application was as competitive as to be the second choice of an Ivy League program, how come I never received any interviews from mid-tier schoold that also fit my research interests? I really don't understand how this system works at all. And secondly, as an international student, I really did everything I could-the gre, the internships, the SOP etc-, but there are so many handicaps! Despite being in the best university in my country, which is also an American university, we don't write a thesis in undergrad, and we usually have no opportunity for poster presentation as an undergrad - that 'privilage' is usually reserved for masters or phd students, and also the travel costs tend to be very high- let alone a publication. I really feel like in order to get accepted, the stars need to align a certain way, and then some more. I am sorry for venting, but really, if there will be other internationals reading this and feeling better by doing so, it would be enough.
  19. Hi! I was just wondering if you received an official waitlist mail, or just assumed you were upon not getting rejections yet.
  20. Same here :/ One of my professors told me that state schools are extra slow this term. since they want to be sure they will be grated federal funding before accepting students. And after Trump's stopping of environmental funds, they are afraid that the education funds will also be cut. I am not really sure if that might be affecting my neither-interview-nor-rejection situation, but I'd like to hope.
  21. School: Princeton UniversityArea/Degree: Cognitive Psychology PhD ProgramRationalization: POI accepted only one student, and despite it was a close call (I was the second choice), he chose the other candidate since s/he had published some articles while I hadn't. Comment: I knew I wasn't getting in when I didn't receive any interview, but now knowing that it was a really close call makes me feel worse, Coping tactics: Haven't received any other offers/interviews (the two other schools I applied to haven't send them yet, I think) so not well. Especially knowing that I did all I could to get accepted, and then learning that I was rejected due to something I couldn't help with (you can't really publish in undergrad in our school, it is a non-US state school) feels really bad :/
  22. Thanks for responding! I was holding onto the fact that the ones who got interviews applied to neuroscience while I applied to Memory/cognition & I was an international candidate :/ But I guess it is time to face the facts now...
  23. School: Duke UniversityArea/Degree: Cognitive Psych/ PhdRationalization: POI was probably not taking many studentsComment: Applied to a single POI, who was not sure if she would be taking any students.Coping tactics: None, as I am waiting better results from the other 4 programs I applied to. This was my least fitting -and least fitting- application, so I'm not surprised either.
  24. Hey everyone! I wish everyone a waiting process as non-nerve-wrecking as possible. I am an international student applying to Phd in Cognitive Psychology, and I've heard one response thus far, which is an expected rejection from Duke. I applied to 4 more programs, but didn't even get an interview so far. One of my friends who got accepted to a Phd in US told me that the timeline for interview is different for international students, does anybody know if that's true?
