Good luck to everyone! I deduced that I received 0 invites this cycle and will try my best for the next cycle. For those with even just a single interview, know that hundreds of applicants would die to be in your shoes. I'm a bit heartbroken (0 invites from 10+ applications), but also have the foresight and resilience to get through another year. I'm just happy I get to finally take off these worry pants and go back to the focused grind.

At 27 I had not even started college yet- instead my last education milestone was graduating from high school in the lower third of my class (and was honestly just happy to have graduated). I didn't even start undergrad college until I was in my 30s- much less masters. I totally know the feeling you are talking about (I literally have children closer to my next oldest cohort-mate's age than I am) AND neither of us is behind. Our journeys are ours. Getting this education and working towards the career is important to me (and I assume you), not the age I do it at. We've both got this ?

just called LSU because I’m impatient and feel like I’m losing my mind. They said that they have not finished sending out invites and to expect them in the coming weeks. The interview date at the end of January is their first one but just because you aren’t not invited to it does not necessarily mean you won’t be extended an invite for the program all together. 

So I think I will propose research to see the prevalence of psychiatric disorders caused by PhD application process. 

I bought a journal a few days ago titled "I'm So Freaking Freaked Out" which perfectly describes myself during this process. Helps to be able to write my worst fears down, but still doesn't prevent me from checking my email 20x a day!!! 
What's worse is anticipating a school to reach out to applicants for interviews on a specific day based on data from previous years and.... silence.
