5/5 down for rejections, who wants to have a misery party? See y'all next cycle ;)

Jokes aside, I'm happy I made it as far as I did, applying to the top POIs at the top schools in Canada straight out of undergrad and still getting a few interviews. My GREs were pretty crap, none of my refs were even clinical psychologists and I had 0 connections to most of my PIs. Gonna take this time to retake GREs, build up my research, and smash the next cycle next year (or just wait two years depending on my job). I said I'd be upfront about rejections, so if you're feeling down about yours, just know everything happens for a reason and now wasn't your time--but next year/two years might be.  LOVE U CANADA THREADDDD

Received a rejection from McGill Counselling MA (project stream) today - it was an email to check the portal. Not too surprised, research fit was not as strong here for me.

Recieved a rejection from OISE SCCP today.

Agh, so sorry to hear and sending good vibes your way. Did you get an e-mail or just check the portal?

Did you get an email? I haven't received anything

Yeah I got an e-mail from "SGS Graduate Admission Application" saying a decision had been made and then checked my portal. It seems like I got my e-mail later than @rosieejoh did, so not sure if they are sending out this e-mail as a mass rejection and I just didn't get it right away, or if they are going through the list one-by-one. Hopefully you not hearing anything yet means you're still in the running though!

Have York decisions gone out? This is what I'm hearing lolll.. @Jay's Brain do you know the scoop?

I've heard of a few offers and some rejections for the NP area. Might be good to reach out to your POIs now so you can hear about the decision instead of anticlimatically finding out on MyFIle. Best of luck to you @Neurophilic and to everyone else!!

Come back as a veteran in a year or two and prove those five schools wrong. Best of luck @higaisha!

Hi all! Hope everyone is doing okay today. Stay strong wherever you are in the process. Anyone heard from UVIC lately? From the looks of things in previous years they seem to move a bit slower than the other schools, but just thought I would send feelers out.

Thanks!

Hi there! They sent out offers of admission to 6 people back in February!

Still no word at all (rejections/wait-list/official offers) from UTSC? Good grief!

All official offers went out in early Feb, they’re now waiting to hear back from applicants

Can't tell if you're being serious but also curious if this is a thing people do!?

I dunno if people do this, but I've obviously written it in a much more professional manner and reached out to my UBC V POI when I got rejected in January, and potentially a way to inquire about the reasons why you didn't make the cut... if your relationship with them feels adequate for that kind of conversation. Certainly wouldn't hurt! But not necessary

I was rejected from a program and composed an email saying thanks for the consideration, enjoyed our interview etc.. I was offered a position as a lab coordinator as a result, which was super cool! It's important to try and be remembered if you didn't get accepted and hope to apply again :)

haha yes ok, fair! I think I was thinking of my situation of never having interviewed with a POI aside from emails before applying. Have thought about reaching out to ask why I didn't make the cut but don't really know how/who to ask about it since I never interviewed.

Thanks...did I see that you accepted somewhere in the feed?? If so, congratulations!!

Have you (or anyone out there in the cyber-verse) heard of any official UVIC rejections or wait list notices going out? And/or know of any other colleagues who have committed for sure?

I am thinking of emailing next week for some sort of status update because I have some interesting job and research offers on the table right now, and any information whatsoever would be helpful in my decision making for whether to commit to these other things or not. :)

Hi everyone all my applications have been under review for a while now (York-Clinical, OISE-Counselling/Clinical, Guelph - IO, Waterloo- IO) so I'm pretty mentally prepared for rejections since I only had one interview with OISE. I'm wondering if it'd be appropriate to email my POI's (even the ones who never responded to my introducing myself emails during the application process) about the status of my applications? Can't take the waiting anymore. I'd also really like to ask them how I can improve my application for the future, but I'm not sure if that's too presumptuous since they see so many applications and may not remember mines. I also wouldn't want to be too pushy and send my CV for them to review for recommendations.

How would you all go about asking for feedback on applications?

Hi Hi! Yes, I did post that I accepted so thank you! I do not know about rejections or waitlists...sorry! I do know that myself and one other person have committed for sure...not sure about the other four though! I hope that was helpful :) Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions!
