The reason was "Program no longer has openings" I asked Dr. Heiman specifically, and she had the same response. -

LA Tech rejected me. I'm so devastated! Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but damn. I thought I had a good chance. -

I have one of those! I got mine from Walmart.com for $180 and it's a Queen. It's very comfortable and I will definitely be getting another if I can't find room for the one I currently have in my car. -
Good Luck on your interview with Lamar! I'm still salty they didn't give me a chance

I felt great about mine. Although I was caught off guard by a couple questions, it went smoothly for the most part. Currently, SFA is my top choice. I love their labs and their commitment to diversity and I like how they sold me on their classes when we discussed my professional goals. What about you? How do you feel your interview went?

During the interview, I asked how were graduate students supervised and they only mentioned their on-campus clinic and their school placements, but now I'm looking at their website and they do have some opportunities for hospital and rehab facility placements!!! Thank you for pointing that out. They just moved up on my list for sure. -

Just got a phone call acceptance to West Texas. Surprised because I thought my interview went terribly. -
What I meant to say was, yes, SFA does have an essay portion but I do not know what it will consist of! I was told that the interview would last about an hour. 30 minutes for the writing and 30 minutes for the interview and tour of the clinic.

Thank you! It was alright. I was unprepared and felt like I was babbling but whatevs! There were three people on the other end and they take notes as you speak. It went by really quick, maybe 10 minutes or less. -
For children with learning and intellectual disabilities who are placed in regular-ed class rooms (because of that least restrictive environment clause), C's are amazing! Whenever my students make C's, I can not praise them enough and I am truly proud of them. Although I encourage improvement, that C really shows hard work and determination. It is so easy for them to fall behind and fail their classes because of their neurological difference. Do not take for granted how easy it is for you to learn and grasp information and make "commendable" grades. It is a real struggle to many. As an SLP, please be aware that your students and clients will have weaknesses that you do not possess, and it is important to be compassionate and empathize with them. So once again, for a learning/intellectual disabled child, C's are good in all states.

I don't see the need for the Oral exam unless the nasality is affecting her academically. Hypothetically, you'd already know if she had nasality issues because you'd hear it. And even so, you'd have to refer her to a ENT anyway to get a more in depth perspective, especially since she has preexisting allergies, and asthma and sinus problems. I'd def. do the hearing screening since that is a concern brought up by the parents AND a child should always have a hearing screening regardless. Pragmatics checklist? I'd need to know what the school and psychologist eval says to give my input. Are they reporting her to be below her peers in pragmatic behaviors? Is she within normal limits? Is that affecting her academically (If she has C's, probably not). How old is this child? Are you going to use the regular Celf-5 or the Celf-5 metalinguistics? I believe the metalingustics tests for pragmatic skills while also tacking language, so maybe look into that one. Her parents are concerned about her spelling, but is it truly necessary to evaluate that? She has C's. That's pretty darn good. Perhaps her parents have high expectations? What do you think?

I don't see why not. I think they're great and they're the only type of slacks that I wear. They are chic and trendy. I have a pair in navy blue and I wear them with a matching blazer, looks very professional in my opinion.- 200 replies

Canceled my interview at Midwestern Glendale. The program is entirely too expensive for me. $80,000?! Just for tuition and fees?! Had I not been accepted else where, I'd still go. At the time, I was really unsure of my self because of my mediocore stats, and was desperate to get in anywhere and pay whatever price and Midwestern was surely going to be that place (being a developing program and all). I really love the location, their mission, vision and class offerings--- But it's all good tho!- 469 replies

I too have an interview with West Texas -
Texas hires SLPAs and Nebraska can fire you as an SLPT for one year.
