  1. Hahaha.......like we haven't already been doing that.
  2. I totally did the same thing. I did less of why i want to be an slp and more of why this program was a perfect fit for me. I also included that I'm an slp asst. in a school district.....probably should have made my intent of staying in the schools more aparant. Hrmmm..... Thanks!
  3. Hi. I was waitlisted last cycle also. I emailed to inquire the same thing. She just told me my letter of intent had some mechanical errors and that's why I was waitlisted. She wouldn't expand any further. I'm curious how they responded to you, if you dont mind sharing.
  4. opps I already said that didn't I... Sorry. My nerves are driving me crazy!
  5. I'm in the same boat. I'm really trying not to stress but that ship has totally sailed. lol Anyways, good luck to you! Hopefully we get answer soon!!!!!
  6. Im from el Paso and haven't heard back yet.
  7. Well...that kind of squashes my theory then since you and momoftwo emails went out at the exact same time.... ?
  8. So here's a thought. What if they are going in alphabetical order? The person I know who was accepted last name starts with an A. My last name starts with a V. I'm sure it takes a while to process and send out emails to all the students in each district. Lol. This is me trying to stay positive and upbeat in this stressful situation. Any thoughts?
  9. I'm in elpaso. I haven't heard good or bad news. When I was waitlisted last cycle I was notified on the 15th.
  10. Ugh! I was literally counting down the days! Maybe... they send the first round of acceptance letters on the 15th and as people accept or decline they send out more the next few weeks? What do you guys think? Maybe that is why she said mid December to January......
  11. December 15th, right? That's what we are waiting.....!!
  12. Yes. I would explain to your recommender what the csdcas is and that a lot of schools use it. I just had my recommenders address it to admissions commitee. Also, in my case, I am only applying to online programs so I asked my professors to include that they taught online courses and I received an A. I just tried to give them something extra to write about. Anyways, hope that helps.
  13. Thanks. Great idea. A small cohort is a great addition to why I like the program. I'll take a look at their faculty too!
  14. When they ask why you chose this program? How do you all answer that question? I want to stand out but it always seems cheesy. I try to add terms and vocabulary they use from their home page but I feel stuck. Any advice?!
  15. Hello, I worked in a clinic for brief time but now I currently work in a school district as an SLP assistant. First couple of sessions are always nerve racking. Hopefully, you have some experience with kids. That always helps. Anyways, as for planning therapy. My suggestion would be to review all the goals of the kids you will be seeing before hand and pick out a couple of games or activities that target multiple goals. Depending on how long you have the kids and their age range you might need 1 or 2 activities prepared. There are lots of activities that you can target multiple goals with so that you don't have to have 8 activities for 8 different clients. If your clinic has supplies, definitely take the time to look through everything. There's no need to re invent the wheel every time you do therapy. Anyways, hope this helps! Message me if you want any specific ideas or tips. Good Luck! You can do it!
  16. Yup! Just gotta relax......and wait! and fill out other applications LOL.
  17. Hello all! Just wondering if anyone else was applying or has previously applied to this school??? Just looking for information about the application process and if you have any advice about the video clip.
  18. When I made a request through email I introduced myself, told them when I took their class and what grade I received. I then requested they write my LOR. It's best if you pick professors that you received A's with and maybe took more than 1 class with if possible. Once they agree.... give them specifics to include and elaborate on. I always requested that they highly recommended me for acceptance into the program bc if they can't do that you probably don't want them recommending you (Ive seen that on the form they fill out). They get requests all the time! Don't be shy just do it. The worst that can happen is they say no.
  19. I didn't. I think I had the opportunity to re write my essay if I wanted too but I didn't. To be honest I've be losing motivation. ? Anyways, I will probably just reapply next year.
  20. So I was waitlisted during the last application cycle and I was told that I would automatically be considered for the spring application. I haven't heard anything so I'm pretty sure I'm out at this point. Lol ?
  21. I applied to cycle 10! I'm region 19. Last cycle I was waitlisted (#1 for my region). I'm trying not to get my hopes up....but kinda of too late.
  22. Eastern New Mexico University offers online classes.
