Y'all, I did an impatient thing. I couldn't wait any longer I just went ahead and e-mailed my POIs at the schools I hadn't heard from, briefly reiterating my interest in the program and asking for a timeline on when to expect a decision. Ask and ye shall receive, eh?

@AnthroChick21, I feel your pain. I actually only work for two hours today and have the rest of the day off, so it’s going to be a looong wait. Fingers crossed we at least hear something this week! I feel like this is the latest they’ve run, at least according to the results!

@MJF and @AnthroChick21, I tried calling at 12:10 ish and just now, no response. I think that they are probably getting flooded with calls about admissions and aren't answering :/

Ohhh, okay. Well, I'm sure that things have been chaotic with all of the administrative changes due to the Nassar incident. So that may have slowed things down too.

@MJF and @AnthroChick21, as much as I want to have hope, I'm not holding my breath. I feel like they released all of the results last week with the other acceptances. Does anyone know for sure that they haven't sent out results for biological anth?

@cebertxela, thank you! So do you think they’ve even notified any people yet? I haven’t seen any change in my portal either. Hoping the committee is running late and maybe they’re sending acceptances this week

Is this a good, fair, or poor funding package in anthro?

I would check the thread with the spreadsheet regarding funding packages in the Anth forum. It will at least give you some comparison. That package seems standard for a MA program -
Same here. Do they even have anything separate from bio? I thought that was basically their only subfield

So, I have interviews coming up with professors in the same department, but with vastly different areas of research. How should I prepare for these interviews? Do I still become familiar with their research in depth (e.g. reading recent articles)? Or would it be okay to have general knowledge of what their research interests are? I don't want to be under prepared, but I also don't want to spend a wealth of time trying to decipher their research, which is completely different from my areas of interest.

So, I've seen threads in other groups where people share their funding packages for MA/PhD as a useful resource for people who want to apply for schools, but aren't sure what the funding may be like. Little bit of background info: I'm applying to anthropology programs, and have one interview. This particular school has the anthropology dept through the school of biomedical sciences. They sent an itinerary the other day and when I looked at the scheduled interviews, I noticed that none of the POIs I listed on my application are interviewing me. I e-mailed to clarify if these interviews are with potential future advisors and was told that I have the options of faculty. So there wasn't really any clarification. So should I take this to mean that if I am admitted, then I could pick any faculty? Or are these interviews with faculty that are interested in me? I'm concerned because the faculty interviewing me have completely different research interests from my own, so I can't possibly see why they would want to advise me... Please help!

FYI, if you're referring to the program I think you are, they aren't sure if they will be able to fund anyone coming in this year for at least the first year. So I wouldn't count on that, if funding matters to you. PM me, and we can talk more!
