Did u hear anything? Mine’s still not updated

No I didn’t ? I got an email this morning from admissions though- maybe you got this as well? The email just states that they are still reviewing applications and will send another email when the decision letter is posted.

I didn’t get that email. That’s weird

I got rejected by UPenn yesterday. On the positive side, I got accepted to my top two schools. I think it also shows how much effort I put into them. I spent weeks writing my personal statements and essays for my top two schools. My other schools I did a lot of copying and pasting. I guess it shows.

For anyone else still waiting to hear from Smith...I just heard from my admissions advisor re: snail mail letters still going out. They informed me that all decisions will now be sent via email. Such a relief, since I am currently in one of the Bay Area counties instructed to shelter-in-place until April 7th and am staying with my partner and his parents. Wasn't sure I'd be able to check my mailbox at my apartment for the next 3 weeks.

Funnily enough, I received a Financial Aid award notification from Smith earlier today, but have yet to get an admissions notification email. Has that happened to anyone else here?

Just got admitted to UChicago today with a 30k a year scholarship. Unfortunately I don’t think that I will be able to attend because I just have too much debt from undergrad to go into more, but I’m still proud of myself

Congratulations!!!! That is an amazing aid offer, and you should totally revel in that pride! I really hope you'll be able to pursue your MSW soon. Can you perhaps defer for a year? (I'm not sure about UChicago's policies on that).

Also, may I ask if you received an email notification to check the app. portal, or did you just check yourself? I'm still waiting on a decision from them and am so antsy.

Thanks! I’m thinking maybe I will see what happens when the full financial aid package comes out. Deferral also sounds like a good idea that I’ll have to ask admissions about. I got an email that there was a portal update this morning and my decision letter was on the application management page. Hope you hear back soon!! ?

Heads up to anyone that also applied UMB-SSW. I just got an email saying they're allowing their admissions committee to adjust to working at home and will start reviewing apps in order of when they were submitted starting next week.

Hi everyone, honestly, I was hoping to see if anyone can relate because I honestly feel silly talking about this to anyone else. Given everything that is going on, has anyone else started worrying about schools next year? I got accepted to UCLA Luskin, but given how the situation currently is i'm so scared by the time fall rolls around schools will still be on shut down. I currently attend UCI as an undergrad and they already cancelled our commencement ceremony. It's getting bad. Given how interactive and field-work focused an MSW degree is, do you think if the circumstances continued the way they are and weren't better by the fall, MSW admissions would be rescinded? Or do you think that they would possibly defer everyone for a year and have us all begin in 2021? I have no idea. I probably sound crazy. Honestly, I feel like the stress of everything going on has led me to just be stressed about grad school as opposed to being happy that I got into my first choice!!!

I hope someone can relate :(

If anything we might just doing a version of the online program. I would be surprised if schools remained closed by then, but who am I?

@nicka F I've definitely thought about it, although it doesn't seem too likely. You definitely aren't the only one worried!

I've also been paying attention to how the universities are handling the crisis and how much they're supporting their students though, which I think should really inform our decisions.

My university is on Spring Break right now and our Field Director is trying to balance options between what the university says we can do in terms of internship vs. what CSWE says we should do. To be honest it's a bit of a mess.

My grad school options however seem to be handling everything fairly well, I get frequent email updates.

Does anyone know when is the last day UCLA will send out decisions?

Their admissions confirmed that all decisions should be out by the end of this week! Not 100% if they'll be released over the next couple of days or if they'll just all be released on Friday

All I can say is.. I’m not paying this insane tuition for some of these universities without getting the full experience! For an online degree I might as well stay in state and get it at my local university lol. That’s atleast my opinion on it. No way I can pay 24k a semester to sit on a computer!

I've been quite anxious about this as well. 100% they wouldn't rescind admissions so don't worry about that! The optimist in me thinks that things could at least die down enough by then (but not go away all together) that it wouldn't be impacted, but this is such a wild, unpredictable time so there's no telling where we could be even a month from now. Worst case scenario, I could see them deferring us one year or making us go online. Although my field placement is going to be in corrections so let me know how that's going to work out!!!! For the sake of my mental health I'm just gonna take it a day at a time. My last semester of college got completely derailed, my commencement is most likely getting cancelled, and I had to say goodbye to so many friends so I've had enough to cry about lol I literally just signed on an apartment so I'm going to be moving this summer regardless (hopefully?).

Hope y'all are doing alright

Omg this! I got accepted to George Mason (still waiting on others), but I’m not accepting an out of state if they make it online. Waiting on admission decisions is stressful and now the uncertainty of programs is even more stressful.

Sorry not sure! I imagine they'll probably notify everyone by the end of this week or by the end of next week at the very latest.

Just a heads up to everyone applying or accepted to UMB:

There are 2 students doing field placements where I currently volunteer. Yesterday, I talked to the first year about the field placement process. Turns out that you don't get to select your first field placement! They just give you one regardless of your interests. So it's likely that you'll spend you're entire first year in a field placement outside of your interests. It also sounded like the process in which they do this is a mess.

Just an fyi!

Eek! Thanks for the heads up. I did not know that.
