I've yet to hear from any of them. All theory subfield. JHU for me, also theory. Out of all the schools I applied to, that may be the best fit. I hope to hear back soon, although I don’t think they release decisions until the end of February.
fauxgranite Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 The decisions are really streaming in now for Columbia. They're saying they got emails to check their portals, but my portal is unchanged so far. Waiting for someone to claim an admit in this thread. XTeaever and Gradschool2020!!! 2

decisions1234 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Looks like someone got accepted to Brown. Still waiting.

Also still waiting on Cornell, Columbia, Yale and The New School.

DrPepperGuy Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Did anybody else get a cryptic letter from WashU? I assume it means I'm on the wait list but they didn't explicitly say that. Richelieu 1

"While we cannot extend to you a firm offer of admission at this time, over the next few weeks, we will develop a clearer picture of the size of our entering class, as well as the parameters of funding opportunities. If we are able to offer you admission, I will contact you." Among some other things that are less important. This sounds like I'm on the wait list because of lack of clarity on how many they can bring in this year.

It’s an absolutely gorgeous campus and the department is run very well. I’ve heard they only accept 3-4 PhD students a year though. Yep! I've heard that as well. They said they generally see around 100 applications and they take 4 of those 100.
MCSW23 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Hi there everyone, I was just popping in and wondering if anyone has heard anything back from Korbel yet? I applied for a dual MSW/MA program and trying to chalk up my debt for both programs, but don't want to get ahead of myself good luck to all
decisions1234 Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Is anyone else still waiting to hear from Northwestern? They sent out a ton off acceptances/rejections last week but there hasn't been a lot of action since.

Richelieu Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Has anyone reached out to any professors at Brandeis? They specifically mention on their FAQ page that they DO NOT encourage candidates to contact professors before getting admitted to the program. That sounds very weird to me.
ihatedecisions Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Anybody claims unofficial letter from POI from UMich?

taraeh Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 I just had a missed call from a NYC number. Looked it up and it was from CUNY. I called them back and they said they have no idea why I have a missed call and they don't call pending applicants. Disappointing... yet, mysterious.

allben Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Refreshing my email way more often than necessary just in case Columbia and/or Michigan is real. I think stress is now just my default state, lol. sloth_girl, Gradschool2020!!! and ihatedecisions 3
Romcomulus Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Seeing University of Washington acceptances roll in. Nothing on my email yet, getting nervous. Not helping matters is the fact my EDU email has been acting up lately.
Gradschool2020!!! Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Is it true that acceptances come out in batches or do they usually come out on one day?
sloth_girl Posted February 5, 2020 Posted February 5, 2020 Just now, Gradschool2020!!! said: Is it true that acceptances come out in batches or do they usually come out on one day? It can really depend on the school. What I see most often is that it'll come out in a batch by subfield because those decisions are often made independently of each other. Some schools are known for dragging it out, where others are known for pretty consistently sending everything out at once. Gradschool2020!!! 1
