Tybalt Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I am visiting a school soon, and if all goes well, as I assume it will, I will be declining Albany's offer. That's more for my office mate than me. Albany is his top choice, and he's wait-listed (similar sub-field to yours, as well). You're going to love UBuffalo. I visit the area all the time (I'm doing my MA at St. Bonaventure at the moment).

It was one of my top choice programs. Good luck with your wait lists, I am hoping you hear good news soon!
John_Duble_E Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Declined CUNY (English), Pittsburgh(English), and UMassAmherst (Af Am Studies) Does this mean that you're trying to decide between Vandy, Temple and Tufts, ZeeMore21? Or have you made a decision? Best of luck!
souslespaves Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I turned down (these are all M.A. programs)- BC (with full tuition funding) Georgetown (with full tuition funding and work-stipend) UVA NYU Fordham BU Northwestern Hope this helps some waitlisters!
transcendental Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Is anyone planning on turning down a funded offer to UW-Milwaukee?
runonsentence Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Is anyone planning on turning down a funded offer to UW-Milwaukee? I'm holding two offers right now: Cincy and Milwaukee. I'll be making a decision between them by the 1st. Both are rhet/comp spots though, so I'm not sure if this helps you or not.

StormyGrad Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hello! Is anyone declining Kent State, Old Dominion, Loyola or UNLV?
Tybalt Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hello! Is anyone declining Kent State, Old Dominion, Loyola or UNLV? I don't think UNLV has notified anyone yet. I know it's getting close to the deadline, but they've got some serious financial things to figure out in Nevada.

I think my odds just shrank. The Renaissance admit told me at the welcome weekend that he was going to accept, and I just received word that the third Renaissance admit (the one who wasn't at the weekend) is accepting as well. This whole wait-list thing is more stressful than I thought it would be (I don't expect to hear from Rochester until after their visit weekend in April, and Florida's wait list seems lengthy).
ssundva Posted March 26, 2011 Posted March 26, 2011 I think there are quite a few people who are anxious to hear about University of Florida. Any news in that direction?
wild_rose Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 This morning I declined an unfunded offer from UN-Reno (MA: Literature and the Environment.) Not sure if this helps anyone, but I thought I'd post it anyway! Tybalt 1
tortola23 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Maybe all of you UT-Austin admits can post your decisions after your visit this weekend? I'm on tenterhooks.
DisneyLeith Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 (edited) I declined a fellowship MA offer from Boston College, as well as the MA program at Buffalo and Chicago's MAPH. Edit: Also just declined a fully-funded MA offer at Miami University of Ohio. Edited March 28, 2011 by DisneyLeith DisneyLeith 1
CRC87 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 UCONN Anyone? Waiting on their MA. Only applied there.
Dagny1984 Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I have not heard anything from Temple. I do not know what to think at this point. Anyone else waiting for Temple?
IvoryTowerDreamin' Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 If anyone is planning to decline Rutgers or Boston University, please let me know!
sportsnerd Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Any updates on the Minnesota front? I know they just had their visiting weekend, so people must be making some decisions - either for or against! I'm on their waiting list, and it's definitely my top choice...soooo I. AM. DYING.
lyonessrampant Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Hey, sportsnerd! This really isn't good news for you, but I'm pretty certain I'll be accepting a spot at Minnesota in the next day or two. However, there were only four Ph.D. people at the visit, and I think they admitted 8 or 9, so maybe some of those people who weren't there will be declining? I don't know about the other three Ph.D. people who were at the weekend. Best of luck! What's your subfield?
RosemaryJuniper Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 I second Florida. Also Fordham and Notre Dame? I just turned down Fordham (...awkward with my adviser, let me tell you).
